Tis the Season

by freeacre

Not exactly your Star of Bethlehem….but it may be leading to something new.

Maybe we should call it “the Star of Obama” because nobody knows what it is. The lamestream reports that it was a failed Russian rocket. Yeah, like rockets form a perfect glowing spiral with a blue beam shooting out of it into an illuminated area when they go out of control. Uh huh. A more likely explanation to my mind is that it is a demonstration of the Russian version of the H.A.R.P. project – a facility for which is supposedly centered about ten miles away. Then there is Benjamin Crem jumping in at every opportunity as he has since 1976 asserting that it is yet another sign of the immanent arrival of the new Messiah, Maitreya the Teacher for the New World religion. Let’s see… that would make Maitreya about forty now and still living in London all this time. Not likely. Next we’ll be looking for Son of Maitreya…
At any rate, though, what a perfect image for the times. Cliff, in his latest report from Half Past Human, says that the linguistics on the net identify this time as one of “Secrets Revealed” and whistle-blowing by all sorts of minions as their loyalties disappear along with their paychecks. Supposedly, we are going to get out collective minds blown by the surprising duplicity of our Men in Suits, military, government, church leaders, celebrities, and basically all those cultural icons who hold what is loosely identified as our culture together.
It has already begun. Read Matt Taibbi’s scathing investigative reporting on Goldman Sachs, the financiers on Wall St. and their counterparts in the government. Formerly regarded as The Smartest Men in the Room, the toast of the beautiful and powerful, now they are purchasing guns and ducking the anticipated mob. They are afraid somebody might rearrange their face like Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s was by an angry man in a crowd who broke off his teeth and smashed in Berlusconi’s nose with a statue of some sort.

How the mighty fall. I almost hate to mention Tiger. Personally, I don’t believe that a person’s personal life is anyone else’s business but their own. I had no interest in Bill Clinton’s sex life, and I have none in Tiger Wood’s either. There seems to have been no coercion or underage involvement (quite the contrary), so I would label it None of Our Business. What does interest me, though, is how much play the mainstream is giving it. I wonder if they would have treated Jack Nickolas or Arnold Palmer that way. Oh, I’m sure none of them ever had any affairs…. But, Tiger has become a cultural cornerstone and it does rattle the mental construct to have him fall so ignobly from grace. I’m not sure if this is a case of whistle blowing – or just blowing.

In any case, we have other examples:
"Roche engages in science fraud
Roche claims there are ten studies providing Tamiflu is both safe and effective. According to the company, Tamiflu has all sorts of benefits, including a 61% reduction in hospital admissions by people who catch the flu and then get put on Tamiflu.

The problem with these claims is that they aren't true. They were simply invented by Roche.

A groundbreaking article recently published in the British Medical Journal accuses Roche of misleading governments and physicians over the benefits of Tamiflu. Out of the ten studies cited by Roche, it turns out, only two were ever published in science journals. And where is the original data from those two studies? Lost.

The data has disappeared. Files were discarded. The researcher of one study says he never even saw the data. Roche took care of all that, he explains."

Then there was the story this week that reveals that the stock market was propped up by DRUG MONEY!! Feign shock.
Via: Guardian:
"Drugs money worth billions of dollars kept the financial system afloat at the height of the global crisis, the United Nations’ drugs and crime tsar has told the Observer.
Antonio Maria Costa, head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, said he has seen evidence that the proceeds of organised crime were “the only liquid investment capital” available to some banks on the brink of collapse last year. He said that a majority of the $352bn (£216bn) of drugs profits was absorbed into the economic system as a result."

Want more? How about Climategate? Those pesky e-mails pointing to massaging the numbers on global warming that may or may not be the work of the business class influencing the scientists. Or, the scientist who refutes the claims of Al Gore in this piece:
"CLIMATEGATE - Inconvenient truth for Al Gore as his North Pole sums don't add up
Tags:
• CORPORATE MEDIA
• COVER-UP/DECEPTIONS/PROPAGANDA
• POLITICS/ELECTIONS/CORRUPTION
• SCIENCE/HEALTH/CLIMATE/NATURE
In his speech, Mr Gore told the conference: “These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”
“It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,” Dr Maslowski said. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”

Oh, yeah, and the expose’ from “Vererans Today” who accuses the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld cabal of treason due to knowingly going to war in the Middle East supposedly to fight Osama bin Laden when they knew he was already dead.
“BIN LADEN NEVER MENTIONED IN McCHRYSTAL REPORT OR OBAMA SPEECH
"HUNT FOR BIN LADEN" A NATIONAL SHAME
By Gordon Duff/STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor
Conservative commentator, former Marine Colonel Bob Pappas has been saying for years that bin Laden died at Tora Bora and that Senator Kerry's claim that bin Laden escaped with Bush help was a lie. Now we know that Pappas was correct. The embarassment of having Secretary of State Clinton talk about bin Laden in Pakistan was horrific. He has been dead since December 13, 2001 and now, finally, everyone, Obama, McChrystal, Cheney, everyone who isn't nuts is finally saying what they have known for years.
However, since we lost a couple of hundred of our top special operations forces hunting for bin Laden after we knew he was dead, is someone going to answer for this with some jail time? Since we spent 200 million dollars on "special ops" looking for someone we knew was dead, who is going to jail for that? Since Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney continually talked about a man they knew was dead, now known to be for reasons of POLITICAL nature, who is going to jail for that? Why were tapes brought out, now known to be forged, as legitimate intelligence to sway the disputed 2004 election in the US? This is a criminal act if there ever was one.
In 66 pages, General Stanley McChrystal never mentions Osama bin Laden. Everything is "Mullah Omar"now. In his talk at West Point, President Obama never mentioned Osama bin Laden. Col. Pappas makes it clear, Vice President Cheney let it "out of the bag" long ago. Bin Laden was killed by American troops many many years ago.
America knew Osama bin Laden died December 13, 2001. After that, his use was hardly one to unite America but rather one to divide, scam and play games. With bin Laden gone, we could have started legitimate nation building in Afghanistan instead of the eternal insurgency that we invented ourselves.”

Yeah, I’d say it is prime time for whistle-blowing. In fact, Murph and I just finished reading “The Last Symbol” by Dan Brown. That one just may have more influence than any of the rest of these stories. It will be read by hundreds of thousands and probably seen by millions once they make it into a movie. Like the Da Vinci Code, it is full of secrets and intrigue. Only this time it is based in Washington D.C. and may shake to the core those who believe the 1950’s Disneyland take on what this country is all about.

Oddly, with all this collapse of the paradigm in mind, I find my enthusiasm for the Christmas season renewed. With so much of the banal bullshit falling away as the Mall Rats disappear into debt obscurity, a different sort of Christmas is beginning to emerge. I find myself looking through my belongings for little treasures that I can give away. Why wait until I am dead and the recipients are old to give my stuff to them? I find myself wanting to do it now. I don’t know how many Christmases I have left.

I might just put together a cookie exchange among my friends and neighbors. Gifting homemade cookies, breads, music, movies, books – all sorts of things can be given that are special and don’t depend on feeding the corporate pig. A post collapse Christmas is a Christmas that I can get behind. I intend to devote the next two weeks engaged in activities that bring joy and peace and warmth to those I love and maybe an extra meal or two for the community. No credit cards involved.

Once again Freeacre I love the way you put your thoughts to word :-) Regarding that photo, it looks like a gigantic cosmic snail! What are the aliens trying to tell us? I wish I could have seen that amazing sight in person :-)

Great sentiments of yours here, " I intend to devote the next two weeks engaged in activities that bring joy and peace and warmth to those I love ". Beauty and inspiration are always all around us, in the wonderful people that gift us with their rich essence, and in the myriad terrain of what Mother Earth gives us too. We just have to fine tune our senses to see it clearly and experience every day the magnificent creation that our universe represents :-)

Music has always been a very important part of my appreciation for life. I'm going to send you some of the sounds I enjoy listening to along with the Orion Moon Man of Clay :-) Interesting vibrations which pass through time and space into your uniqueness, and may ( if they resonate ) carry your mind on new landscapes of thought :-)

Thanks again for taking the time to share your feelings and ideas about these changing times we are in :-)

Tiger

“Assenture” dumps Tiger
The only real issue here is, DO CORPORATE SPONSORS have the right to pass judgment on professional athletes PERSONAL LIVES. Any consumer that allows that to happen is selling their soul to stupidity. Our athletes bless those leaches by allowing them to use their name.
This BS should be the beginning of a sportsman revolt against any company that is ARROGANT AND IGNORANT ENOUGH TO THINK THEY CAN PASS MORAL JUDGMENT ON ANY BODIES LIVES.
Time to send a message folks.
Big business thinks that they own this country. They think they own our athletes. They think they own our government. They even think they own us. Enough is enough. The corporate pig that just dumped our SUPER STAR has been consulting our jobs OUT OF THIS COUNTRY for decades. They are not anybodies friend. They are blood sucking vampires. IMHO
Tiger in a sense has given the people of this nation of sheep a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY to rip off that lamb’s skin and show corporate America the wolf/tiger hide within. Tiger has given pro golfers the same golden opportunity to reclaim some dignity in their lives. You guys have been kissing corporate butts for far too long. Let the greedy SOBs know that they are guest in your game, not rulers. Don't play until Tiger plays if you have too.
I say screw any CORPORATE sponsor that acts in such a fashion.
Boycott their products. Leave them on the shelves. If their sales reps come calling leave him/her sitting in the lobby until their butts are stuck to the chairs.
This country is dying because it has lost the guts to fight. Time to go looking for those guts boys and girls. No better time than right now.
Morals are a product of our environment. We got them from our parents, our friends, our teachers, and our society. We were not born with those opinions we learned them.
America’s moral values have sunk to an all time low. Do we even know what they are anymore? We kill thousands of our fellow man all over the world every day simply because they grew up in a different moral molding environment than we did and we don’t even shed a tear. Our government representatives sanction this AMORAL behavior every day and we do not even blink an eye.
IT IS LONG PAST TIME FOR US TO PUT A STOP TO THIS NON-SENSE. TODAY MY BROTHER AND SISTERS RISE-UP, RISE-UP and SHOW THE WORLD THAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE TAKING CONTROL BACK FROM THOSE LOW LIFE SCUM SUCKING PIGS. THEY WILL ALL BREATH A HUGH SIGH OF RELIEF, I AM SURE.
If we can't stand up for our Super Stars, then who or what? If you are a SUPER STAR it is time to stand up and be counted. Show the pigs who is really the Super Star. Don’t play if you have to. Screw the money; it is the principle that counts.
WE GOT LAZY AND WE LET THE LOW LIFE SCUM SUCKING PIGS RULE THE HOUSE FOR A WHILE. THEY STOLE US BLIND. THEY HAVE STOLEN OUR MONEY, OUR POWER, OUR RIGHTS AND THEY SHOW NO SIGN OF STOPPING OR EVEN SLOWING DOWN. BUT THE TIME TO NEUTER THE PIGS HAS COME. IF WE DON'T DO IT NOW, LORD HELP US. WE HAVE LEARNED TO SLEEP WITH THE PIGS AND LIKE THE SMELL.
TIGERS FAMILY AND THEIR PROBLEMS ARE THEIR BUSINESS AND JUST THAT. CAN THE SELF RIGHTEOUS RHETORIC EITHER PRO OR CON AND GET OUT AND KICK SOME CORPORATE PIGS BUTT.
Copy this fast boy and girls, the pigs will start squealing real quick and it will soon be gone. Send it to everybody you know. Post it again if you choose. Make it pretty, make it spread.

Beautiful work Freeacre, as usual! You're right, nobody knows what is going to happen tomorrow, much less ten years from now. Might as well do what good you can now, you might not get another chance!

Hey, Calvin,

Welcome to the campfire. Yea I think I get where you're coming from except for the "Superstars" part.

I personally think that it's fairly reprehensible that grown men are paid obscene amounts of money to play a child's game, while the teachers in this country, who hold the future of this country in their hands have to take a night job at the local fast food restaurant to make ends meet!

Call me a buzz-kill if you must, I just have a little bit different list of priorities!

A review of The Road:

http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/features/the-road-a-film-that-every-one-of-us-needs-to-see-1841829.html

The Road: A film that every one of us needs to see

What would happen if some catastrophe laid waste to the earth and society broke down?

As the credits roll and we fall stricken and tear-stained out onto the dark streets of Soho, it seems fitting that I am accompanied by the director of the second bleakest film ever made – Franny Armstrong, creator of the The Age of Stupid. The bleakest film ever made we have just endured together, over two relentless, harrowing hours, and are now so emotionally raw that we know not where we are going, nor do we much care. It doesn't seem to matter. "Oh my God," moans Franny, repeatedly, head in hands.........

...... The Road is about the human condition, and how humans might behave to each other if the worst does happen, in whatever way. If we ever do push the planet so far that the majority of the human race is left without food or water in uninhabitable areas, what will it feel like to be one of the starving millions? Initially we might all come together in adversity, in a kind of global blitz spirit. McCarthy admits this possibility: at first, others had "come to help" the survivors. But "within a year there were fires on the ridges and deranged chanting. The screams of the murdered. By day, the dead impaled on spikes along the road." We won't stay united for long.

How can anyone prepare for this kind of outcome? Over the years, I have received many emails from people asking where they might need to set up home if runaway global warming begins. New Zealand, perhaps? Norway? I'm sure all the questioners share the same survivalist fantasy, the one where they take their family into the hills and survive on a small farmstead, stockpiling rice and baked beans and keeping a loaded rifle by the well-guarded front door. The Road exposes even this limited comfort as being futile: sooner or later the ammunition will run out, the pounding on the door will begin to splinter away the hinges, and the ravening, faceless horde will pour in. If the worst happens the truth is that there is nowhere to hide, and the road itself will offer no comforts. Of that we can be certain......

Check out the rest of the great review of this new film at the address listed above. Yikes! If you were not having nightmares already about our dire future, this film looks like it will do the trick for sure!

Hot Springs,

Did you read the comments on that last link you put up? The whole global warming issue is being used to separate us even more. I hear the comment more and more that global warming is a scam. I've also received word that we need to level the mountains in Afghanistan and kill them all, and better yet, get rid of all the Muslims. Better to fight them over there than here and, Afghanistan was responsible for 9-11.

Oh hell, I imagine all of us have heard this non thinking rhetoric more than once personally and read enough of it to know it is pretty wide spread ideas. I get a lot of the reactions of asking "where is your data, who told you that" and the response is the equivalent of "don't confuse me with the facts" argument. I suspect their information primarily comes from Rush, Hannity and Fox news.

Oh well, more popcorn and beer please.

Hello Murph :-) I did not happen to read any of those comments to that review of The Road movie. Like you said, alot of folks out there just will not come around no matter how much information or facts you put before them. Like for example my mom and step dad. I try to get them to see whats really going on with alot of this stuff but there is just no sense even trying anymore, since its pretty much akin to talking to a couple of walls! They keep coming back at me with the Faux News BS and they have been drinking the coolaid for too long!

Looks like there will be nothing of any significance coming out of Copenhagen. I figured that would be the case. They will just spin around in circles argueing, while the climate chaos just continues on its dire course.

In a similiar fashion the health care reform looks like it will be something to celebrate for the medical cartels, while the poorer classes once again will be getting further screwed by all of these crooks and their machinations.

With for the most part criminals, scamsters and ingorant fools running things for the world's complex societies, not much hope here that we will be seeing any large scale intelligent and wise solutions to all of the coverging global problems now imperiling humanity. We will just have to do what we can to cope at a local level.

In reference to the movie Avatar that just came out, my brother called me this evening just for the purpose of telling me that he had seen it, and he considered it the most moving and amazing movie he had ever seen. He felt the story line was a superb mirror of events now taking place in our world. I'm going to try and see it soon. I get the impression its going to be stupendous!

murph said...

HSW,

I don't make it a habit of reading comments, but on some contentious issues I do, just to get a feeling of how the people that read the posting look at it.

Yeh, that movie "Avatar" looks interesting. LOL Wonder when we will get a chance to see it.

I agree that we're just going to have to figure out how best to make do at the local level. But even there, there are problems. Our county has put together a 7 citizen commission to do a comprehensive 20 year plan for the county. Most of the people on this commission are ok, a couple are questionable. They have been encouraging citizen input into this planning process. I learned today that they have over 10,000 pages of just citizen input from the last 5 months. Needless to say Freeacre and myself have been sending them our share of pages. I have had some email communication with two members of the commission. Good people. But, besides all that citizen input, they have to at minimum acquaint themselves with at least a dozen fields and over 100 issues and some of them quite technical. My question to them has been; how many of you have read the reports and research papers that pertain to any given issue, like USGS reports that tend to be huge. No single person can possible do all that within all the areas that are under study. So, how does one in that position ever have the information to make useful, logical and practical recommendations? You simply cannot. At least some of the members of the commission are trying, give them that. Now, the county government has a highly paid staff (overpaid by magnitudes in my opinion) and the planning commission is all citizen volunteers. So, instead of the overpaid staff people doing this kind of research, they have free labor and the conclusion can be accepted or rejected at will. In the meantime, the county government staff is feeding background information to the planning commission that is often biased, misleading and some outright lies concerning the prime issues. Us citizens outside of this keep putting information in front of them that we research for them at our convenience. Isn't it really neat when you can't trust your local government to get it right?

I attended a meeting a few weeks ago with two of our State congress people. One of them I think is a straight up honest dude, doing his best, the other I don't know. I asked both of them if they ever read the bills at the state level that they vote on. Nope. Have to depend on staff to give them the straight poop. Now ask me if I have the confidence that the staff people will give their bosses objective honest and real data?

Years ago in Michigan, my dad worked as a researcher for then Governor Rommney during one of his campaigns. I truly wish I had been old enough and savvy enough to ask more question about what was going on. But, I remember that my dad did say that the bearer of bad news better be quick on his feet. They flat out don't want to hear it.

Can you imagine what goes on at the federal level? I surmise that not one congress critter reads one of the bills he votes on, often because it is impossible to do so within time constraints from release to the floor to the vote. The consequence of this is that the very worst of oppressive legislation is passed on advise of staff no matter what the congress persons ethics, morality or integrity is, and that is not even counting the pressure from constituents and pressure groups. And then of course, there is the money to get reelected, pure bribery.

continued

murph said...

I have several solutions for this.

1. No congress critter can vote on any bill unless he has read it and can prove he understands what it says. That will surely slow down the legislative process unless they start making bills that are single issue and simply stated. Either way, it would certainly be an improvement over what we have. Problem with that is the tremendous unemployment it would cause. lol. All those overpaid staff members.

2. All bills before passage have to pass a constitutional test, not after they are passed. But then again a whole bunch of unemployed lawyers.

Oh hell, I'm just a bundle of optimistic outlooks these days.

how you guys holding out?
was in the wal mart store the other day in missoula while waiting for a friend of mine to visit her doctor ( yeah i know) anyway the last time i was in one was last summer and the place was standing room only it seemed, this time there were three tellers!!!!! and this place was about a square block of store.!! i waited about three minutes to check out with a replacement 12 volt air pump for one i loaned out that never came back.
Man that was something to see. kinda like one of the movies that are popping up like mushrooms lately, what's up with that? is the end of the world as we know it just a fad? orrrrr is it the collective that are being made to be able to accept the fact that death is a coming and as it is a consensus of authoritative opinions that it is this that switches the ''o my god we are fucked'' button and ''man i wish i had done things a little bit different and now its to late.'' to turn on.?
sounds like some of the acid trips we use to take that had some actual meaning .
i mean for those that have not had the lsd experience,'' i would sincerely suggest that you take some if its from a reliable source'' and do it in a place that is free of shitty vibes in the first place and maybe with someone that you trust.
this experience will more then likely leave you changed in the way you view the world, i know for me it was never the same, not a bunch, but the doors that opened as a result of this sacred journey, ( and make no mistake it is sacred ) have never closed and incoming data seems perceived with a new eye to the truth of that data.
in other words getting fooled by the lizards is quite impossible, hopefully./// there are a few it seems that have been pre=lacquered to the point where nothing can disturb the graveyard that is their brains.
have no clue as to their destinational git away.
its raining today and the four total inches of snow are disappearing at an alarming rate. roll eyes,, yep, its the mother fucking
global cooling going on in a big way. global warming, global cooling, global just right. wish the fuck they would make up their minds, this suspense is just giving me a global fucking headache.

SATS, hows the vacation,? miss your input.

ok tomorrow off to missoula airport to pick up one son whom has faith that the world will need engineers and is finishing off college in phenix, it seems amazing that the male members of my family are more inclined to face the fact that the end is near
then the females. hummm. what's up with that.?

christmas, fuck me, there is a group of people that ride through the village on horse back singing christmas carols in front of peoples houses and businesses. call me jaded but i only see horseshit coming out of their mouths (although beautiful) and horseshit on the streets everywhere they go. tradition is the mind death that is spoken of by those that say death is pretty and tasty when its cooked right.
me i loath christmas carols, and the whole commercial bullshit hypocrisy that goes with it including the maxed out cards that take the next few months to pay for something that no one probably wants anyway.
for me christmas was a time of gathering the family together, drink plenty of white mans firewater and beat the shit out of each other. YIPPIE !!
I saw the other kind of disney world shit on tv but that was just that, disney world. did not live at our house. i felt guilty for years because i wanted to fuck tinker bell. yep you heard it first right here at the pond of the willing and able.

so i know i'm going to have to break this up in two pieces which is kind of a drag but what the fuck,, its worth every penny.

so happy whatever to all you brothers and sisters out there that are in love with each other. may your new year be a new beginning and peace and prosperity be yours from now on.

This is a topic I've been following for several decades. I believe
this article to be generally accurate. Good advice at end. - R. Wicke,
a friend

************************************
http://projectcamelot.org/The_Invisible_Third_World_War.pdf
THE INVISIBLE THIRD WORLD WAR
by W. H. Bowart and Richard Sutton
"Just as nuclear war changed the nature
of conventional war, it made Invisible War (IW) a necessity.
The only safe way to wage war, the warriors realized, was to wage it
silently. Toward the end of World War Two various forms of IW research
began, and eventually modern warriors came up with a number of insidious
ways to subdue enemy populations without their ever knowing that a war
had even begun. Today secret "invisible weapons" pose a more ominous
threat to life than even thermonuclear holocaust. These weapons have not
only been developed without the knowledge of their intended victims,
they
cannot even be detected at the very moment they are murdering or
robotizing
civilian populations.
...
"It is more dangerous than atomic destruction", warns CIA funded
physiologist Dr. Jose Delgado, "Because in our wisdom we may destroy
the planet. But through our knowledge of the brain, we may transform,
we may shape, direct, robotize man. I think the great danger of the
future is...that we will have robotized human beings who are not aware
that they have been robotized" (69). Delgado ought to know. As father
of Electronic Stimulation of the Brain (ESB), he helped spawn the
Invisible War.
...
When a prominent psychiatrist, Dr. Thomas Szasz began debunking
the totalitarian mind control plans of his colleagues in the 1950s
(103), he
became the focal point of similar attacks. When Andrija Puharich began
revealing too much about psychotronics in his books, he was attacked
similarly.
Other men like Szasz and Hubbard have sparked a growing movement
to restore mental freedom. Szasz helped launch the fledgling Libertarian
Party, whose platform boldly calls for a halt to government mind control
operations and its financing by U.S. tax dollars. Indeed, the financing
through taxation of a technology to enslave the tax payer, may turn
out to be
the cruelest joke yet played upon the American people.
...
Rational self-reliance and an understanding of how the human mind
works are the best protection against IW. Don't look to national
governments for help, they're attacking you. Don't look to psychiatry,
they're developing weapons to destroy the very seat of your liberty -
your mind. Don't rely on authority. Obedience to authority is the
first act of submission to suggestibility. Suggestibility is the first
step of surrender to mind control. If it isn't true for you, it isn't
true. Your own integrity is your best hope. Ethical scientists may
develop IW countermeasures. Good men may reform governments. But
ultimately your own survival depends on yourself. As long as people
know this, freedom will survive.
"
Gee Whillikers, ya think?

Murph, I understand the points you were making about the local level problems and agree. The kinds of challenges we all will be facing will be very problematic to say the least on all the levels we attempt to address them considering the scope of the difficulties before us. Things will be changing so fast, with so many differant things we will have to deal with to try and cope with.

This thing will unfold in myriad ways that will throw the best laid plans into jeopardy. I'm hoping that the decline happens in something less than a catastropic fashion. Having more time to make adjustments will be clearly helpful. We shall see what develops with next year seemingly fraught with ominous signs. You never know for sure, this future scenario may limp along for much longer than some expect it will.

Regarding the Avatar movie, from what I've heard thusfar the basic story line is basically run-amuck corportation greed doing what they always do best, plundering peoples and their resources without conscience. I think my bro took that theme very much to heart in identifying with the struggle that goes on here and now in the same fashion on this planet.

Sometimes a movie like that can stir stronger feelings of anger against the people's who perpetrate such cravenous deeds as akin to raping other people's and their lands for the profit and power that it brings them. When I see the movie myself I can give you my assesment of it based on my own perspectives.

Important ideas ( truths ) and information can come from many sources, knowledge that can surely bring change at times in our own lives in various ways.

Like in the movie 2012 the Monk was filling his cup of tea and overflowed it. A young man ( his student ) said master you have overflowed your cup. The Monk said this cup is like your mind, full of opinions and perspectives, and that to know truth you must empty your mind ( the cup ). Now I'm roughly telling the accounting of this scene but my take of it is that many close off their minds to new ideas because they are so full of opinions and perspectives that their minds are overflowing, with no room for new growth, learning, understanding, change.

So as an example I think of my mom and stepdad as having the cup of their minds so full of their " set " opinions and perspectives that they are pretty much incapable of looking at anything else outside of the closed container of their rigid beliefs.

I don't see things of this existance in terms of absolutes, and I consider this an important aspect of my proceeding in a responsible and honest manner in my assesment of what I experience, what I observe to be.

I liken this to the empty cup in the Monks message to his student. Something moving, inspiring and meaningful can come from a wide range of sources, and with an " empty cup " as the vessel of your mind you can be open to consider new ways of thinking about what is, new paths to the truth of things.

Josh,

RanD is right. I can tell you that having seen the truth of our situation back in 2002, it has only given me more time to prepare physically. The emotional aspect has not gotten much better. Many liken this awakening to the process of grieving, with denial, anger, acceptance etc etc. There is some truth in that too. But when you loose a loved one, they are gone. There is a start and an end. With the collapse, there is a start, but no visible end. So it feels more like having a loved one that is sick and dying but has not passed. With each passing day they get worse, and you try to do more to deal with it. At the same time, you must be vigilant not to become victim to the same disease.

Emotionally, this process is very draining. It is vitally important to take care of your self and do the best you can to love the ones dearest to you. You must also keep living!! No one will live forever, to spend too much time worrying and preparing might just waste the last good years of your life.

It may sound and feel contrary, but your task is to prepare yourself physically and emotionally for the collapse, and at the same time, make the best of everyday that passes.

I am no expert in this. I won't even claim to be doing it well. One of the best tools in my mental workshops came from Tony Robbins. It is somewhat simple, but has proven to be one of the most potent weapons against self destruction for me. I'll try to express it below.

Monitor your internal dialogue and listen to the questions you ask yourself. The questions can liberate you, or imprison you. Depending on how you ask the question. You must learn to “rephrase” your internal dialogue. It is not hard, it just takes practice. Some examples...

Bad: Why can't I convince more of my loved ones that the collapse is coming?
Good: How can I help my loved ones grow their awareness of collapse and have fun doing it?

The bad question will set your mind to finding fault with you and your methods. Your mind will continue to find reasons for YOUR failure even though you have not failed.

The good question will inspire new ways to reach those you care about. Perhaps taking them to see Collapse the movie, but make it a double feature and see something light too?

Make a game of trying to find things in your house that are either NOT made from oil or NOT made in China as a way to expose our utter dependance on others.

If you can catch and stop yourself from asking WHY questions, this will help a lot!! When you find a why question kicking the shit out of you, replace it with a HOW question.

Last example.
20+ years ago, I was out of shape and lonely. I was full of why questions. Here is a sample of some internal dialogue.

Q:Why am I fat?
A: Your lazy. You lack will power. Your a bitter unfriendly person. ETC ETC ETC.

I switched to a HOW question.

Q: How can I loose weight and have fun doing it?
A: Start riding your bike. Learn to kayak, go dancing, learn to cook healthy, ETC ETC ETC.

Once I changed my question, I never lacked for ways to stay fit. Facing collapse has not been as easy, but I'm making progress everyday. Sometimes the HOW questions are really tough. Right now, I'm working on the toughest one of all.

How do I learn to accept that many that I love will not be able to come to grips with collapse? How do I let them go their own way?

Changing WHY to HOW can be a powerful tool. I hope this rings true for some of you. If not, ask yourself why.........? :-)

Fascinating ideas, R.Wicke, friend. Many years ago I read "The Myth of Mental Illness," by Dr. Szasz. It is one of the best and most innovative books on mental illness (or health) that I ever read. It really challenged the way the psychology establishment has set things up. Even though it was forty years ago that I read it, I still remember him writing about individual and cultural rituals that can be used to heal trauma. Many years later I was cured of a case of depression by wearing a pair of black high top tennis shoes. Don't ask me how, but it worked. I have a friend who healed herself of a history of rape and molestation by douching with milk.
I did not know what he got involved with after that, or that he was given a hard time. Your info on invisible wars is great food for thought. I will look into it.
Good council from you, too, HS Wizard. You might appreciate reading Carolyn Baker's book, "Sacred Demise." It is like a workbook to help work through the emotional pain of the deterioration and loss in the face of collapse.
If we can stay centered, and not be freaked out by the chaos and despair, and develop access to our inner "observer," it will hopefully strengthen our ability to withstand the mind-fucking we are all getting. Love, peace, good humor, patience, and confidence are all antidotes to fear and loss. And,sometimes it is useful to step away from one's feelings and give executive control over to your inner "Spock." Just look at the weirdness with a dispassionate interest. "Fascinating," as Spock would say. It could maybe save us from becoming Pod People or Manchurian Candidates or whatever other reptilian crap they want us to become. I believe that times will be tough, but they will lose. People are more than their bodies, more than their minds, even.
I am enjoying this season, even though I do not ascribe to Christianity as it is. I like the lights and the music and the food and the heightened levels of caring for one another. I have to force myself to take down the decorations by St. Patricks Day... sometimes they last until Easter. lol
We plan to see Avatar and The Road next week if possible. But, I think we'll have to plan some major comfort experience after watching "The Road." That ones really looks grim. Maybe I'll buy us a bouquet of flowers.
Good to hear from you as always, Montana. If I took a trip again, it might be more possible to laugh at all this stuff and find the beauty in it. Just contemplating it makes it so.

Happy Solstice everyone!

The longest night of the year has come again
At dawn the sun will be reborn
Once more the cycle will begin
As through all the ages of our world, so weary and worn

Rest now in the comfort of the fire
Fear not the deep of the Night
Our situation may be dire
But dawn will bring the reborn Light

Howdy Ely,

Long time no hear from you. How's the weather down there? We got cold and wet. Although when I was in Bogota in the winter, it was pretty chilly.

its four something in the morning and the kids are sleeping the sleep of sweet reunion, waiting for the dawn that ras says is on its way,
i believe her, but i'll wait anyway.
the plane was on time and the drive through howling rain back home was a blessing, a son not seen for four years has arrived and there is much love among these brothers, how this came about with the fucked up childhood they were part of is what surely must be classified as a miracle, i am grateful to spirit for this, i wonder if telling them from their beginning diapers that society is a rotten stench and should be looked at with deep eyes had any thing to do with it.?
some of my brothers here on the res have had their earth hearts torn out and replaced with something that is beyond comprehension, if this is old stuff why is it still so prevalent? there is a pretense that takes place when the white suits come around, a nervousness that brings practiced acquiescence but inside there is a different story and the tribe is waiting for the right moment to bring their self imposed hell home to the ones that preach its reality.
don't get me wrong, there is and always been a tribe that longs for this day regardless of color or strange harmless disposition, we are brothers and sisters under the skin and will know each other at a glance, i met one last nite at the airport while waiting for the iron bird to land, we noticed each other, a gentle probing, a slight bowed nod, the recognition of reflected light and walked on.
these days are upon us my friends and although revenge is a two casket affair it will be done for a time until that which has been done will become something else.
the native heart places no value on the senseless slaughter brought about by the good christian lizards love of their god and their hatred for their fellow man.
and it is reflected self hatred that will finish off this cycle of human carnage, at least that is what is foretold by what's left of the ancient ones.
it looks true to this one as the suppressed fear climbs out of its bible cage and the shit really hits the fan.
there are those that are nibbling at the possibility of something just outside the range of vision, this nibble will become a raging hunger but satisfaction will not come, for the illusion that is called reality is anything but,
these closet freebies are our allies and the red pill is working.

the single candle burns brightly this morning, the nag champa brings sweet scent to the air, the smoke signals swirling upward seem to say breath deeply and remember who you are, for you are sacred and the time is at hand for that which was foretold is at hand.

on this first day of the coming year i sincerely hope that all that come to this sacred fire and don't have a clue to what is happening to them will find the meaning that burns deep within them to have the courage to stand up for what is real and for what is their destiny, the path forward is the path of love and everything other then that will simply fade as a dream forgotten.,easily? maybe, probably not for all.

i thank the great spirit wakan tankan for this first day and the many first days to follow; we are grateful to the mystery,of which we are part.

ps stoney, do you suppose they come with names included,? engraved at no extra cost.?
what exactly does wallyworld know that we don't?
this is a very fine example of love offerings is it not? ;-)

Hey there Murph

Been good down here, weather is been averaging between 28 to 32 degrees c, and for me that is not too hard to take. Bogota...hmmm well do not care for the place, been there 3 or 4 times and seems each time I go there I get a new reason to dislike the place. Lets just say for me it has the charm of a wet wool blanket on a frosty night..hehehe

Not much else happening in my world really, just keep my nose clean and sit back in wonder at the stuff going on around here.

Its almost surreal in a sense. The globe has been struggling through a recession, Spain, Greece, Ireland to name a few, and if you would look at what I see happening here in Medellin you would say that there is no global financial situation. Huge apartment complexes being built everywhere and have been built, at least 3 new malls built in the last year and a half with one to be completed by early next year.

The cost of everything has gone up exponentially as to when I first came here 5 years ago, yet nobody seems to notice or say anything about it. For example. 5 years ago you could have bought a decent apartment for between 50 and 60 thousand dollars, that same apartment is now in the range of a 100. There are plenty of half to 1 million dollar apartments, yet when I look at them you are really only getting a box. It just confuses the crap out of me... How are people paying for them I do not know, is there new industry starting up here, not that has created any type of media attention, friends I have in the textile industry say if things don't pick up in the USA they may have to close down so I do not understand the frenzy around housing here, it is looking a lot like the housing situation in the USA and in places like Spain where Real Estate can only go up up up, but I guess those lessons are going un-noticed.. a correction will come here too, probably in a couple years though.

Have not been too active on the blog scene, seems to me a lot has already been said and done, I still see a huge financial storm on the horizon, and if there is no weather system to redirect it I am thinking it will arrive on the homestead in the new year.

I still follow along here and read the comments , this is one of those places I find some kind of solace in knowing there are like minded people out there, that there are pockets where it is not all F'd up.

I guess I am in the stage where I have proven sufficiently that common sense and intelligence are not always mutually existent, but it seems the older I get the more I crave for a small group of level thinking people.

Then there are days when I hate the species altogether...go figure eh

Anyway good chatting will follow along into the new year...

Love to All from the frozen tundra that is Minnesota during the holiday season. Please extend that love beyond the prescribed "nice time" of year, if you are so inclined.

Not much else to say, really. Tired of rolling around in all the possibilities trying to "figure things out" and get positioned "just right" for......well who the hell knows, really?

A new cycle has begun, and now we move again towards the time of renewal and rebirth. Funny how it seems, by all appearances, that things outside are dead and buried in snow and gloomy skies. This, too, shall pass, and warmth and sunshine will follow.

Know what I mean?

By the way, that whole spiral thing is bigger than we may think, or so my Spidey senses tell me. Just like the immediate reaction that the intuitive portion had to "Terrorists with boxcutters....and....fires caused the steeel to melt", the whole "failed Russian missile test" story stinks to high heaven, even though the Russians have copped to it.

I call B.S.. No dramatic alternative explanation, just calling B.S. on the "official" explanation.
