From Murph
I'VE JUST GOT TO SAY IT
For days now, we have been bombarded
with commentaries and research into the Syrian political
situation/gas attack situation. One of the best, (not the only
good one) was on Zero Hedge on Monday morning.
http://www.zerohedge.com/contributed/2013-09-02/surreal-sadistic-syrian-subterfuge
George Ure on Monday morning had some
interesting perspectives on Syria.
http://urbansurvival.com/blog/2013/09/02/syria-is-it-really-a-gas-field-war/
This article points out, AGAIN, how
what we read about and what is put in front of us in the mass media
is not how it is, not the whole story. Further, it pointedly makes
the assertion that the folks making the actual decisions on actions
in that part of the world are not the political figures we associate
with these decisions. As we all pretty well know now, what is
motivating all of these actions is the money interests, the really
big money folks concentrated in the international banks and petroleum
interests. The wars over energy control have gone up several
notches.
If the U.S. and it's allies are not
able to control the situation, (through the military of course), all
hell could break loose, ala a large regional war. There are so many
actors in this drama and so many conflicting interests that I find it
impossible to keep it all straight in my mind.
I don't remember where I read it, but
one commentary suggested that the NWO folks want the war so as to be
justified in imposing controls on everyone planet wide. Fits right
in with the agenda 21 papers, create a huge cluster fuck and then
enforce the solution and the Mid East situation sure appears to me to
fit that billing.
No matter who the actors, no matter
what outcome, this will not be good for the lower economic 95% of the
worlds population. While the top 5% of the worlds population can
largely insulate themselves from the consequences of their actions,
the rest of us can not. This also fits in with the agenda 21
population reduction concepts.
Another commentator suggested that we
are already in a nuclear war. He points to depleted uranium
munitions that have contaminated large swaths of land areas with
drastic horrible consequences that will last many generations. So,
through our war munitions we make more land areas uninhabitable for
an increasing world wide population. That works.
I came across some demographic
information lately concerning birth rates. It is asserted that
when a geographical area (such as the U.S.) falls below 2.1 birth
rates per women, that area is doomed for its future ethnic population
and no country has survived this below 2.1 birth rate for very long.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323375204578270053387770718.html
This article postulates that the world needs an increase in birth
rates if civilization is to survive. Of course, all these
postulates assume resources will always be available and that
capitalistic expansion is a good thing. Which also leads to the
question of availability of resources for an expanding population,
which implies the sources of energy. There is much verbiage and
arguments revolving around resources. Those advocating increased
usage seem to assume that the planet's resources (particularly
energy) are virtually limitless.
I assume that for most of us, we can
agree that we have had a corporate take over of the country. It
also appears that this take over has happened in all of the
“developed countries”. This has world wide implications. I'm
not very enthusiastic about corporate control over my life and have
spent years trying to avoid it. Nearly impossible to do on a large
scale. Smaller less industrialized countries have seen the writing
on the wall and taken steps to limit this takeover. Their success
or failure will be a part of our current history. This limitation
seems concentrated in South America. The mid eastern countries seem
to be caught up in the corporate takeover. Overt and covert
destabilization of a bunch of countries has led to an obvious
destabilization of the whole area. I cannot help but assume that
this is going according to some master plan that the banks and
corporations have cooked up. I look again at agenda 21.
I suspect that the situation with Syria
and the entire mid east is a pivotal point. If the corporations are
successful in the complete domination of the mid east and its energy
supplies, the rest of the world should be a cake walk. If however,
they tip over the molasses jug ( see Briar Rabbit) and create a
really big messy situation, it could go against that takeover.
Also, if enough populations see the danger in this takeover, it could
change their time schedule considerably. However, it appears to
me that this takeover has been advanced for many years (a truly
magnificent conspiracy) and will continue no matter the mid east
outcome. The only thing that would stop it in its tracks would be a
large explosive change in the populations value system and abolishing
of our hierarchical system. Considering the 5000 years of recorded
history, I'm not holding my breath for that to happen.
I just finished Joe Bageant's book
“Rainbow Pie”. I think he is dead on right. Better than “Deer
Hunting With Jesus” even. Bageant has been one of the best
spokespersons for the underclass for very many years. And just who
is the underclass you might ask? That includes you and I folks. If
you are not at least in the middle class for income and have adopted
the middle class life style and value system, you are in the
underclass. In “Rainbow Pie”, Bageant spends a lot of pages
talking about what it was like to grow up in the underclass in the
post WWII years in Appalachia. He makes a strong case concerning
class struggles for equality, for equal chances at the “American
Dream”, and mostly how it has failed miserably. My understanding
of the historical context in class divisions of society indicates it
has been a continual struggle for most of recorded history. Even
our founding fathers and the folks that drafted our Constitution had
contempt for the lower classes, that contempt kept slavery going for
200 years and women and the non elite from voting.
Until societies get over the knee
bending and homage to folks that claim to be better able to tell us
how to live, it won't change. Until societies decide to empower
themselves and stop this nonsense, most of society will remain in
some form of bondage, contributing to the fortunes of those that
haven't the practical brain power to stop pounding sand down a rat
hole. Only when and if we take away the declaration that the state
has the sole right to use force to reinforce its dictates, it will
continue. Only when we declare that our lives are ours to live,
and we must allow others the same, it will not change. When the
citizen become apathetic or disinterested in how their government is
run and by who with what agenda, you then can observe the escalation
of croneyism, cynicism, contempt, and subversion of those values that
make life interesting and enjoyable for the rest of us. Until we
get over accepting our roll as consumers and adapt a different value
system, nothing will change.

Well said, Murph.
As Graham Hancock is fond of saying, if you don't have sovereignty over your own consciousness, you don't have sovereignty at all.
Mike Ruppert's show last night is worth listening to. He called for us all to stand up to Obama and Kerry and the fraudster/bankers who control them, and say no, in any way we can. Refuse orders, refuse to load the ships and planes, block the roads and docks, whatever it takes. If we acquiesce, we deserve everything the world, and this sick regime in particular, dumps on us.
That show can be heard on Progressive Radio Network, lifeboathour.podbean.com, 9-1-13

We are standing at a fork in the road and we have about a week, as a nation, to decide if we're going to follow the bankers and their minions down into Hell by raining death and destruction on the innocent inhabitants of Syria, or say 'no' to the despicable liars promoting this inhuman act and back away from the brink of catastrophe.
Which ever path we choose, there are consequences to consider. If we decide to attack, know, our dear leaders have no exit strategy.
The top brass has warned, once we go in, putting an end to hostilities will be very difficult.
On the other hand, if we refuse to follow our standard-bearers into yet another oil-stained, blood-soaked Middle Eastern battlefield, then doesn't that leave us on new ground, domestically; in effect, victors of a non-violent coup in which all but the ruling junta finally agree, the emperor really is naked?
Obama and Kerry have already said that no matter what Congress decides, they're going to order an attack on Syria. Unofficial reports coming in around the country indicate a majority of active military are not on board with this idiocy.
I would guess by now, everybody on the internet has seen the picture of the military man in full dress holding the sign saying he won't fight for AL Qaeda in Syria. Obama's gambling the ranch on this one, and if he loses, I don't see how it's going to return to business as usual.
It's like the gmo thing. The proposed labeling initiative in California was narrowly defeated by big money interests last November, but the controversy surrounding the campaign has awakened otherwise sleeping consumers to the point that no one wants to eat their poison anymore, and everyone feels like they have a right to know what's in their food. Monsanto won the battle, but lost the war.
Same with politics. People are done with this friggin' clown. They're over the wars, the bloodshed, the lies. They want to know what happened in Benghazi. And what about seal team six? Once we come together and stop these assholes, on one issue, that will be our Battle of Oriskany, a threshold, a tipping point.
And who can say what may happen when the frustrated rabble considers its first taste of blood?

Nothing is as it seems. There is a lot of chicanery going on, or as it used to be known DickChenery. It is a long time since I have thought about that one. The propaganda will do the job it is designd to do although more folks are getting their head off the pillow these days. Whether there will be enough to make a difference is another thing. We keep bolstering our confidence by saying it will but.....
With regard to the demographics, here ae the figures for Europe:
http://epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu/statistics_explained/index.php?title=File:Total_fertility_rate,_1960-2011_%28live_births_per_woman%29.png&filetimestamp=20130129121040
Here is a by the way you might already know about. After Yougoslavia broke up, the government and the opposition of Macedonia couldn't agree on whether the word Republic should be in the official name of the country and neither could out vote the other so it is now usually refered to as the Former Yougoslavian Republic of Macedonia or FYROM.
As you can see all of Europian population is in decline. When you put resource depletion into the equation and consider the predictions of Thomas Maltus, if you agree with them, I can't decide if this is a good thing or a bad thing. People bought into consumerism instead of babies. One thing that is fairly clear at least to me is that if oil had never been discovered, population would be very much different than it is today and the strain on the Earth would not be so great. I am going to play the game of What if. If America goes into Syria and Iran immediately blocks the Straits of Homuz, Russia, in support of Syria no longer supplies oil to Europe, then it is not going to be very long before we all find out what it is to live without oil. One interesting thing not mentioned in the demograph is that a significant proportion of Europe's population is Muslim. I mention this not from a racist point of view but merely as a fact. Assuming that nothing happens to upset this trend then at some point around 2025, indiginous populations will be in the minority and could follow the fate of the North American Indians.
I have just come back from the step daughter's place on the other side of Belgium. I mentioned Syria, the knock on effect on the price of fuel, Russia's defence pact with Assad, Iran's likely response to a Syrian invasion and what the petro-dollar is together with Iran's new policy of selling oil for gold. I talked about this in an offhand way, not a lecture and I think it sounded reasonable. If you go more into the background and banker connections then you come over like a complete looney and loose credibility. I think the same is true of the wider population. It is a case of giving people what they are able to handle at the time, not that my relatives are stupid people. The big lie is a most improbable thing although 9/11 has started to change that somewhat.
Wrt the last paragraph, and rp's first comment, Arthur Silber got me on to the film The Americanization of Emily, written by the same author as Network. It really is a good film, one of those comedies with an underlying serious message. It is based on the Universal Soldier theme but wrt the wider population. It is a treties in support of over all cowardace. Funny and profound at the same time.

Despite the grave situation Obama/Kerry/Hagel have nurtured as regards Syria, (total bullshit,) we have a potential extinction level event ongoing in Japan, and I'm not referring to the leaking temporary cooling water storage tanks, as horrendous as that is to think about. I'm talking about reactor building # 4. It's sinking into the mud, apparently, unevenly. Some parts of the building are 30 inches below where they belong. Problem for the entire world is, on top of building 4 is a spent fuel pool full of nuclear fuel rods that, should the structure collapse and the rods actually touch one another, they will ignite and burn in the open air, releasing untold amounts of deadly radiation that will no doubt poison at least the northern hemisphere, and probably the southern hemisphere as well.
Quakes have been shaking the entire Pacific rim, including Japan, for the last few days, and now Fukushima is bracing for a typhoon. The fuel pool is a hundred feet in the air, atop a support structure that's settling unevenly.
What in God's name are these morons in Washington thinking?
Party loyalty. What a piss-poor reason to kill innocents and threaten total annihilation.

Or as Monty Python later put it “We don't morally censure, we just want your money.” :-)
rp One of the Fukushima reactors was down for maintenance to the point of being decomissioned and had no fuel rods in it. I thought this was reactor four but I could be wrong. Also there were rumours that one reactor was running on higher grade plutonium. or was reprocessing plutonium in a basement area under one of the reactors. Any recolection of which one this was.
Haven't read the gas field link yet. Does Assad actually own these fields?
Dang good DOOMAGE, Murph. But, as Ron White says, "You can't fix stupid." Americans have been dumbed-down so much that they can't see themselves as anything BUT consumers/workers. They believe everything the corporate government's propaganda apparatus (MSM) says -because they've swallowed the jingoisms of the US being a REALLY free country with a SUPER free press and American being the "shining light on the hill" and other BS -they can't even go the point of asking a question, "but..?" Thinking otherwise would screw-up their vision of America and cause tremendous amounts of anxiety and fear, which is one thing this country seems to have a lot of: fear.
Just clicking around a bit -looks like the clowns in some Senate committee are going to give their rubber stamp approval to bomb.. ummm.. everyone. Wonder if they're going to light it up on the 11th.

SATS;
My information on building 4 comes from two sources; Mike Ruppert's show with Helen Caldicott and information diseminated over the Rense radio show.

http://www.rense.com/
On the Rense site, scroll down until you see the Fukushima material in a long, central column. He has a comprehensive archive on the tragedy.
Building 3 ran on mox fuel rods, which contain plutonium. It exploded mightily, (hydrogen?,) days after the earthquake, and the building was severly damaged. It's been listing and cracking ever since. Both building 3 and building 4 have spent fuel rod pools located on their upper stories, about 100 ft. off the ground. And, of course, building 4 is sinking in the mud, as the ground water is now within inches of the surface. Kinda makes worries about Syrian intervention moot, eh?

"Anonymous said...
Kidding or not, ignorance or not, nuking SPF pools is like spreading more nuclear poisons around the earth in aerosol form. Daiichi has more than 600,000 spent fuel rods onsite. Spent fuel rods are highly radioactive nuclear waste. The common fuel pond at ground level holds holds up to 6291 fuel rod assemblies. Each assembly holds sixty-three fuel rods.
Because plutonium is a daughter by-product of fissioning uranium. 1% of all spent fuel rods is plutonium.
Another example, Unit 4 holds 14,000 Hiroshima bombs worth of cesium-137. That is just one radioactive element of cesium. There is a whole list of radionuclides inside a spent fuel rod resulting from the decay chain after irradiating uranium.
So, it is not a good idea to drop a nuke on a nuclear plant, operating or not because of all the spent nuclear fuel waste onsite, not counting cask air-cooled storage which Daiichi also has.

I could go on............ho, hum.
Yes rp will check those links out, thanks. Looks like I mistook building three for building four. Wrt radiation, an isotope with a half life of minutes or hours, say up to a couple of days, is not going to do you much harm in the long run. Also halve lives of millions of years are 'virtually benign'. It is isotopes with half lives of weeks to centuries that do the real damage.
Murph, just switched the computer on and started commenting without reading the articles. The subject of your comment reminded me of the adage, “war is when somebody else tells you who the bad guys are, revolution is when you decide it for yourself.”

Hot Springs,
Thank you so much for direction to your newest water experience and the story of the otter family. I could see it in my head as clearly as I saw Gd's story of Dizzy and her babies.
Both told experiences give me good places to go to and relive in my head when I am having a hard day. A sort of duck/Otter meditation if you will.
The beautiful pictures of water and stone help keep me centered and calm, when I start winding up.
Thank you again.
We will be finally totally in our new beautiful territory by Sunday evening of the 8th and starting a new beginning,my youngest daughter and myself. We have a little bit of trepidation for the challenges that we will be facing, but looking forward to the life lessons that will be imparted, by living without some basic amenities that many in our society take for granted. Have several projects that are on the to do list. Solar shower, rainwater harvest, dog territory, cold box etc. Have good advice on how to achieve these goals and will work hard to have all my ducks:-), in a row by November.
We have our music, a creek running alongside our cabin, our horses, dogs, cats, cocketiel, whites tree frog, beta, and a plethora of plants and good books and art supplies. Life is what you make of it and we are excited at this new opening that we are stepping into.

Everyone expects the United States to always beat the average and so it is with the dolllar or at least the dollar since Nixon brought it off the gold standard in 1970/71. Research has shown that all fiat currencies that have existed, have an average life span of 27 years. Some do better, some not so well. At 43 years the USD is currently beating the average by about 60%. QE 1,2 and 3 have all taken their toll as we knew they would but it is still in there beating the odds.

Since my fingers have now completely healed after the hot fat accident I decided to get the guitar out again. The acustic, at least. I still can't play but I can enjoy myself a little bit, why not. In my limited style I seem to be better at picking than chord bashing but even that is not good so I am going to have a shot at the 15 minutes a day and see where that goes. In my enthusiasm do do things guitary, I had a great need to go out and buy something. I needed to consume to feel better but not actually be better you understand. The something turned out to be a variable foot rest and two clip on capos. Why two capos? Well I butchered one and turned it into an E-sus capo. What I thought I was doing I can't possibly imagine since I can't play anything in standard tuning. But the need was great and I did it! Had to jack the bed up to get the amp out from under. Chris helped but haven't had time to get the Strat out and so have not tuned it up yet. Part of the plan is to see if I can get the hang of barre chords on the narrow neck and then try to transfer that onto the acustic. I am going to try to stick to a regular 15 minutes a day dicipline to overcome flash in the pan syndrome. We will see how it goes.
Here is a bitter sweet story about learning the guitar from one of my heros, Laughing Lenny.

on barre's... once the mechanics become do-able in standard tuning the universe expands exponentially. i started with the F chord since, in order to fret it properly i had to learn to barre as the lesser of the evils. i'd found the 'curled thumb' to catch the low E to be the greater challenge. this was primarily a result of using the thumb on the back of the neck as leverage when fretting anything as emphasized to me by my teacher who was a proponent of correct form. not that he didn't use shortcuts like using the thumb to fret. but such was what he considered 'acceptable' modifications to proper form in a given context. his theory was the universe of possibility was far greater if one learned from proper form and then learned how to cheat from there.
the exercise i used was to make the E chord leaving the index finger free and using the thumb on the back of the neck as leverage. particularly for the index as the barre. its like squeezing the thumb and index together with the neck in between.
so, the first exercise toward that end was to make an E with the first 3 fingers (the normal way) and then switch to the last 3 fingers. once that got reasonably comfortable and i could ring true from either position it was time to go for the barre. i'd slide up the neck 1 fret to make the F using the index like a capo. then lift the index and slide back down to E. then back to F. back and forth. the more i did it the cleaner the F rang. then, voila! slide 2 more frets and its a barred G. and so on.
then, drop all 3 fingers fretting the E down one string and its an A minor right? slide up 2 and its a B minor. slide that up 2 and you've got a C# minor. those chords along with the D and the A and the F# minor (easy if you can barre an F) are bonnie's love has no pride.
another aspect of his theory was this: always try to have an anchor. ie. i'd taught myself the A by having the index over the middle and the middle over the ring. he had me 'unlearn that and switch the middle and index. that was switching from A to D the index is the anchor point. just slide it up a fret with the mid and ring lifting to change strings. it just makes 'finding' the strings to make the chord change a lot easier cuz you don't loose your place. the thumb comes into play here as the anchor whenever a shift is made that involves having to pick up all the fingers to go from one chord to another. fwiw.... p

Who are beating the odds at the moment, don't really know apart from what is in that article. Did you see Zimbabwe's one hundred trillion dollar note? Fourteen zeros :) Say what you like about Robert Mugabe, and I probably have, but he told the IMF to tie a knot in it before he would let them plunder his mineral rights, so they hyperinflated him. Don't know the time span though.

Hey Freeacre, aren't you a bundle of good hope and joy. Positive signs but the battle isn't yet lost and won. Personally, I think that despite all the signals from home and abroad, he is going to go in anyway because the consequences to himeslf for not going in are horendus. Unless the military decide otherwise, of course and then we are into a different game. He might plan a a short and sharp limited action but if Iran blocks the straights of Hormuz then it isn't going to stay that way and we are back into plan A.
Btw, what is 'Fast and Furious' in relation to Obama's list of woes, I seem to have completely missed that one?
I bet that McCain video has gone viral by now, I can see the PTB holding their foreheads over that one. Full marks to that upright citizen. Did everybody spot McCain's non denial, denial right at the end? After a rambling statement about changing the system from within, he said “Frankly Sir, when you say we are guilty of treason, that is something I can't dignify with a response”. That boy was never presidential material.
Here is what I have said about it earlier:

The Non-denial Denial
Forms of this are rubbishing a statement as ridiculous or absurd or not dignifying it with a response without addressing the question in hand. Impugning a source without addressing the allegation or denying a more specific version of events than that alleged. Finally there is good old amnesia.

Some of the articles I've read about "Fast and Furious" hypothesized that it was an operation to arm one drug cartel so they could wipe-out one other drug cartel because that other cartel wasn't giving the CIA and the banks a good deal on their drugs and/or money. Like, a REAL "hostile take-over."

Randy; "A REAL hostile takeover!"
Great T-shirt. I love it.
This is the text of an e-mail I received from my Congressman, a freshman Republican. I'm pleasantly impressed.
"Thank you for contacting me to express your strong opposition to the use of U.S. military force in Syria. I value your point of view, and you will be pleased to know that I agree.
After analyzing the Administration’s arguments for military action in both classified and non-classified settings, I remain unconvinced that striking Syria is critical to protecting our national security interests. The objective of a military strike remains unclear and its outcome would be far from certain. While I denounce the Syrian regime’s use of chemical weapons, I believe the risk of U.S. military action is greater than the risk of inaction, especially considering that the rebels seeking to overthrow the regime include several al Qaeda-linked jihadist groups. Thousands of Montanans have joined you in voicing similar concerns, and I share your judgment that U.S. military action in Syria is both unwise and ripe for peril.
As you know, the international response to the situation in Syria continues to evolve. At the present time, the Obama Administration is working with other countries to demand that the Syrian regime turn over to the international community and destroy their weapons of mass destruction. While these discussions take place, it is unlikely that the House of Representatives will vote on a resolution to authorize military force. With that said, please know that I would oppose such authorization if the fundamental conditions in Syria remain unchanged.
Again, thanks for contacting me. It is my number one priority in Congress to represent the values and interests of the people of Montana, and your input is very helpful as I do. I invite you to visit my website, www.daines.house.gov, to sign up for periodic email updates on the issues important to you.
I won’t flood your email box, but I will provide you with updates once in a while about activities in Washington that affect our lives in Montana. I hope you will sign up so that we can stay in close touch, and I look forward to hearing from you again in the future.

Well, which one are you talking about?
The one when the CIA took out Salvadore Allende's government in Chile? Man, I was a freshman in college.
Or the 9/11 when George senior gave a speech about the New World Order?
Or the one when the twin towers went down and three thousand Americans perished?
Or the one when an ex-CIA operative turned ambassador was brutally murdered during a terrorist attack in Benghazi, while US military forces that could have responded were ordered to stand down?
Or, are you talking about the 9/11 when the US administration was threatening to start a global nuclear conflict just to reprimand
another Middle East dictator for allegedly doing something the United States does routinely?

The website Common Dreams conducted a survey of its readers to determine peoples (US and Non-US) opinions on the US admin's motives about Syria. Their results are published here:
http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2013/09/11-10
Of particular interest is the answers to question 4. “What do you see as the top US goal in Syria?
Stopping the civil war 8.61%
Deposing President Assad 8.81%
Stopping Assad from using Chemical weapons 5.93%
Deterring other nations from using chemical weapons 7.82%
We should have no goal in Syria 33.81%
Other Please specify 35.02%
They have printed all of the nearly four and a half thousand replies to “Other, please specify”
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0At6-b-Y26vAXdE9CaHBNdTZYb1pkd1hWd2pCN25YWnc#gid=0
I have read about 10% of the replies, not come across mine yet. There is a proportion of “Humanitarian Assistance” in there, and a few non-answers but the majority seem to be quite switched on, emphasising different aspects as they appear most important to the respondant.
An interesting survey, I wonder if anyone will take notice, It will probably be statistically filed and forgotten.

Yep, and I'll bet they'll try to put in a little rider that specifies Glen Greenwald as NOT being a journalist, which means he'll be hunted down like Snowden.
I try to do a 'walkabout' each day just to get out of my cold, noisy room and sometimes that walk touches the northern part of campus. Yesterday there were these three blokes sitting on two benches that faced each other. They looked like they were together, but, they weren't talking with each other. Instead all three were glued to their iZombies. In just the past couple weeks alone, I've witnessed several crashes -people smashing into each other and two other people walking into parked cars -all due to staring at their iZombies. At a MFZ (Mormon Free Zone, i.e. coffee shop) I witnessed a couple, sitting next to each other on nice, comfy chairs...not talking, but glued to their iSheeples.
So, I'm thinking... anybody ever read Stephen King's "Cell"? Well, maybe THAT'S how TPTB are going to wipe our asses out -with some far-out, brain scrambler wave-length that gets transmitted via iZombies that turns us into REAL zombies (like in "I Am Legend")! Yeah, I know. Kinda messed-up thinking. Maybe I'm watching too many DOOM movies.
Oh hey, FA, speaking of movies... rented "Oblivion" last weekend and thought it was pretty cool -a good sci-fi flick you might like.

Man, that's chilling. If they do that, and all the sites we go to to get the news are considered "bloggers" and not given the protections that journalists have, we ought to boycott the internet. SHUT IT DOWN say one day a week. If they don't do what we want, shut it down two days a week, and so on. The problem, of course, would be coordination and communication without the writers. What a bitch.

Real life caught up with me these last few weeks, after his 9yr battle with MND, we buried my dad on Monday. It was a nice funeral, as far as these things go, a very Catholic affair. After discovering they had cut off my dads legs to fit him into the coffin, I remained detached from proceedings, a little perturbed by the lack of dignity.
We buried my friends dog Luka yesterday. We prepared the grave within our forest garden, we used the quad bike and trailer as a hearse, adorned with wild flowers, walking pace along the river to the spot we had chosen. We made a bed of straw, apples and woodchip (to help the composting process) and planted a nice African Bean tree, and some marigolds, to mark the spot. It's a lovely spot overlooking the river, it'll be perfect for a picnic when the tree grows up, I pass it daily walking the dogs.
I wish I could have done the same for my father, much more dignified IMO, plus I'd get to be near him whenever I wanted, instead of 200 miles away in a family plot I'm unlikely ever to visit again.
I've got a bunch of trees to plant out end of winter, maybe I can establish a glade near the river, somewhere to plant my fathers favorite Dahlias, bury a little box with some of his things in, and plant a great big Oak tree, yeah, that'll do it :)
Gd.

My deepest condolences for the passing of your father and beautiful friend.
I happen to be a lover of Dahlias myself. They remind me of dogs, which I love, in their great genetic diversity and appearance.
I have a group of tubers that I did not plant this year because of the move, resulting from my mother's death in late January.
I call them sunrise dahlias.
They are colored as their name implies.
We have a beautiful creek here in Missoula called the Rattlesnake. It is one of the places that I go to water to send up my openings to the Mother.
I will plant them in two different places there that I know of in thoughts for your loved ones.
I wrap the tubers, warmly in sphagnum moss and they survive the Montana winter ground just fine.
I will plant your patriarch' s bunch beneath a beautiful mature cottonwood and Luka' s bunch beneath a mountain ash that is up the creek a ways.
I will send out two wreaths on the water for safe travels on their individual true paths.
Quaking Aspens make beautiful groves. They are my son's tree.
You and yours are in my thoughts. I send out a wreath for you also.
Take care.

The tranquility of a river bank is a perfect place for a quiet personal memorial site for both Luca and your dad. My father too was a dahlia man so I have had quite a lot of experience with them. I always used to take them up in the winter and dust the tubers in sulphur to prevent mildiew. We have had some weird weather lately, long hot summer then abruptly crashed back to just below seasonal norms. Some things died in our postage stamp front garden and just replaced them with dwarf bedding dahlias which we got from a market on Monday and only got around to planting them today. Dwarfies are not the best sort I know but for where they are going they are appropriate. They will remind me of you and your sad loss.

…......The United States, as the world knows, will never start a war. We do not want a war. We do not now expect a war. This generation of Americans has already had enough -- more than enough -- of war and hate and oppression. We shall be prepared if others wish it. We shall be alert to try to stop it. But we shall also do our part to build a world of peace where the weak are safe and the strong are just.

specifically, when one possesses the power to overide another they choose not to do so. this is in alignment with the greatern cosmic forces seeking balance. were such put into the form of a decree it might read: one no longer has the power to unilaterally override another. they only have the power to move closer or farther away from another.
such is my desire for all on this planet... p
"Kennedy was asked during The President's News Conference at the Foreign Ministry in Bonn on June 24, 1963 what he meant with "so long as that choice does not interfere with the choices of others". He answered: "Well, what we mean is that we cannot accept with equanimity, nor do we propose to, the Communist takeover of countries which are now free. What we have said is that we accept the principle of self-determination. Governments choose a type of government, if the people choose it. If they have the opportunity to choose another kind, if the one they originally chose is unsatisfactory, then we regard that as a free matter and we would accept it, regardless of what their choice might be. But what we will not accept is the subversion or an attack upon a free country which threatens, in my opinion, the security of other free countries. I think that is the distinction we have made for a great many years."

about barre chords, good stuff above, but rather than start with F, try it further up the neck around the 5th fret, it's easier to form the shape and keep it, use the 'E' shape and the 'A' shape, changing between the two shapes and moving down the neck and back is a good exercise, very very difficult at fist, but 15 mins a day on that would get you a good way there... in a few months ;)

Could Russia and the U.S. be simultaneously working together on Syria and killing each other with weather wars? That would be really weird. Now we don't even get to know we are at war?? We don't know how or why we are having our lives destroyed?

Gd Thanks for the advice, much appreciated however I got there first with this particular one. This is what I wrote to Seeker a week or so ago “Been doing the 15 minutes a day on the guitar. Well several separate 15 minutes actually. Progress, I actually got the barre chord to ring out tonight. It was just the one finger barre without the E shape underneath and it was on the 7th fret. Got it to work on the 5th and 3rd fret too but not the first so far. I had the guitar in a really weird position. I was sitting with the strap on and the neck almost virtical, sort of Keith Richard style. It isn't going to stay that way but when you are learning you do what works. I have seen on the internet that 3 months is normal for a beginner to get the F chord to work so I am encouraged with the progress. My fingers are still soft so when it stopped working I did some random picking Finished up playing God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen in A minor.”
Please don't stop with the advice even though I already knew this particular one.
Sometimes life just gets in the way and it is hard to maintain the 15 min dicipline. Missy has been iffy lately although she is a lot better now. Yestarday we had a sick klein maneke = little person = sick grandchild to look after. And then there has been the jobs around the house. Depending on the weather, I am putting one of those outside lights with a IR sensor by the front door later today or tomorrow. With the winter nights approaching, Chris can't always see the keyhole in the dark and with her being a little bit dasabled and having to unatrually use her left hand a torch in one hand and the keys in the other tends not to work. Sometimes when I finally do sit down I am too buggered to get the guitar out :-)
Hey Fa, what is happening with those truckers is the reason why the boss man prefered to go to war. If they do it and the police respond with their awsome toys then the truckers should just shoot their tyres out – all of them.
Here is an idea, why not get some sheets of sticky labels, print on them “ I support the Truckers” with a space underneath to sign a name and then leave them by the town hall notice board.
rp: I've seen the "weather war" theories, I researched too much of Tom Beardens early stuff. The thing is, before we go blaming anything for the weather, we have to know whats "normal". Now, normal for humans is going to be pretty subjective, not many of us live longer than our 3 score yrs and 10 in the same place making observations, so to find normal for the planet (or even locally), we've got to look at historical evidence, and since there are many overlapping cycles, from planetary effects on the Sun, to the Oceans from 10's of yrs to 60, 200, and thousands of yr cycles. we're going to need a long record, the longer the record, the less any of these "weather events" look like anomalies, and more like, just the way it is on Planet Earth.
It does seem like things are out of step with "normal", but we have a skewed view of normal, we don't live long enough to experience the full range of "normal", we don't have accurate records going back far enough to show the full range of "normal" reporting of events has increased massively over the last 50yrs, back then we wouldn't have heard about the floods in Russia except for a small column in one of the broadsheet papers, thesedays we get it blow for blow on live TV so it seems like it's happening more often. Plus you have a bunch of propagandists with a compliant press running round shouting the sky is falling, feeding the fear meme, and bolstering control memes like Agenda 21.
Looking at the historical records we do have, numbers of weather events, e.g. named storms are well below "normal" and as things cool down, the "heat" differential between the equator and the poles will increase, and so will the power of the weather.
Weather wars? Possible.
Evidence for such? Lacking
Evidence there's even a problem? Lacking. Gd.
SATS we cross posted :)
Great that you're plodding on with barre chords (sounds like your doing better than me) did you check out Justins Lessons? After the Beginner course there's a set of lessons on his intermediate method which starts with barre chords ;)
I rarely practice barre chords these days, I try for a few weeks then tangent off into something else, I was getting there on my classical but I don't even bother trying on the steel string which I've been playing much more these days (first you need a thumb LOL) I did however get the full "big F" down pretty good since I concentrated on "Little Maggie", I learned a guitar break for it which has alternating bass on the F so I had to get the big F down (needless to say I don't hit the thick E string, just start at the 5th string as no thumb to cover it) I still get a bit confused in some of the 'F' songs I knew before, because my muscle memory still wants to play a short 3 finger F, bit annoying when you start messing up songs you thought you know, but it only lasts a few weeks until it's practiced out of me :)
Note on A shape barre chords (like when playing a B barre chord) my mate (60yrs a player) showed me the practice thing I mentioned in the other post, so changing from F to B say, he can kind of roll off the upper strings on the F, onto the lower strings for the B and back again, his ring finger covers the 3 strings of the B on it's own, the last knuckle on his ring finger bends back almost 45 degrees! needless to say us beginners ain't going to have that flexibility for a few yrs (my knuckle stays straight no matter what) so try to cover the top two strings with your 'rude' finger and the bottom one with your ring finger - the emphasis should be on keeping the shape (so you can slide it about) and changing between the E & A shape barre chords.
I did get the guitar break for "Moma don't low" down pretty good, I'm finding bluegrass boring as hell to practice, man you need to play it to death to get anywhere near full speed, so much so it becomes a real drag... but... when you play bluegrass with other people, it has to be the best participation sport ever invented LOL it's a real buzz :))
The trick with the short practice times is to have the guitar out all the time, never put it away, so you can grab it even during commercials while watching a film or something, mine hangs on the wall next to my chair, I also have a piece of A4 paper taped on the wall with my current practice stuff on, sometimes I only pick it up for a couple of mins, but I might do that 30 times in a day ;) Gd.

rumor, first hand witness account from my own family. FEMA, in a statement
by their representative in the Caribbean said that it was unfounded rumors
and misinformation, but my own sister in law confirms that the rumors are
true. There is also a threat of an upcoming tsunami and earthquake to the
Caribbean and the east coast of the US being discussed even in the news
media in PR. How is it even possible to call a tsunami like that before it
happens? Have you head anything about it? Have you heard of the coffins
on the island? I know about the ones here on the main land and those are
freaky enough....

Now, beforeitsnews put up this piece today:

I think the ptb, meaning the allied defenders of the status quo, are engaged in psychological warfare against the masses of the western world, to beat us down, break our spirits, scare us into catatonia and generally render us unable to respond while they move along with their agenda.
But it's not working. The masses have finally begun flexing their newly-rediscovered muscle, and are finding the sensation transformative. The trucker's strike, if honored and shared by the general population, could be a major tipping point.
Celente was on Rense radio last night. He called for a war on politics, and the abolition of political parties. 'Gangs' was the word he used.
We need to do something about returning the same recidivist criminals to political office every election. We need to recognize the two major parties are flip sides of the same counterfeit coin. They're thugs who offer us the choice of no choice and smirk at our political ineptness.
Or, maybe we need to dip our feet in the creek, count water skippers and strum guitars, dig potatoes and chop wood in preparation for the winter of all winters, the visitation of our star's dwarf twin and all the calamity thusly associated.
I can't tell anymore.
I can't tell either.
I think it might be good to support the truckers by standing outside Bi-Mart with a sign that says "Support the Truckers." You could also hand out handbills that state the cause. The idea would be to encourage people not to buy anything that day. Boycott everything, including internet sales.
It might be that they seem to know the date of disaster because it would be a tsunami in reaction to meteor hits in the ocean due to debris from ISON. Just sayin'....
I still think we should start a "Bad Serf" movement.

Or maybe its a nuclear divice in a deep ocean fracture zone like Fukushima and that's why they can predict it. Maybe timed for just before the truckers strike? Just sayin.

Then, there is this, from Lindsey Williams. See any connection?

Quayle's alerts relayed DHS is shipping body bags and coffin liners into Puerto Rico, delivering bb's to hospitals. Prepping for Cumbre Viejo's imminent explosion and subsequent tsunami?
Last week I hauled the ladder out and re-strung a set of Christmas tree lights on the exposed screw heads of a now permanent 4' diameter peace symbol on the side of my house.
As far as the truckers' strike, I'm in. If I'm goin' down, I'm goin' down swingin'.

Rp. Thanks for that last article on the CDC. Even though the accusations accumulate and become more serious in nature as we read down the page, what we are being told is not all of what there is. Of that I am certain. It seems to me that there is the person who occupies the throne and there is an inner court, some of whom are invincible and others who are not depending on their historical relationship and their usefulness to the top person. Sometimes it is the deputy who is the real power behind the throne. Cheney and Himler come to mind, even Derek Hatton, in a way, for those who have ever heard of him. Then there are others who are second level team players, good at supporting the cause but are in a position to do extreme damage if their autonomy is threatened and they are allowed to become a loose canon on deck. Such people are allowed their little pecadillos to keep them sweet. So if it known in closed circles that, for instance, Dr Kimberly Quilan Lindsey likes to wind down by interfering with her pet poodle or her pet penguin, how would anybody else find out? Not unless she had a perchant for public farmyard stuff. From reading between the lines, which is standard format for official releases or most MSM things nowerdays, it appears that said doctor has overstepped her bounds in some way and is now being put in her place. Given the nature of the alligations of her roll in a campaigne of public deceit and harm doing it seems curious to me that those in higher authority have decided to use the legal system to bring her into line. It is common belief that the first line of attack is a 'Look here' message deliversd by anonymous men in suits. If that doesn't work she may be filled with remorse and find an urgent need to commit suicide. It would be extremely interesting if she had let it be known she had written an 'In the event of my sudden death' letter to sources outside the USA. Maybe including the Guardian for instance. This story is one to keep an eye on because there is more to this than we are being presented with.
