OBSERVING THE UP SIDE   from Murph

I’m writing this on Sunday, June 8.  This morning I read an article on Zerohedge that asserted that we spend too much time on the doom information rather than looking at the “fact” that economic data has some positive aspects.  http://www.zerohedge.com/contributed/2014-06-07/doom-gloom-sells

Now I will readily admit that I tend to look at the negative side much more than the positive side of the information I see on a daily basis.   I have noticed that I am seeing more articles and analysis’ claiming that things are getting better.  The central argument seems to revolve around government data on housing, employment, and GDP and a few other metrics.   These articles do not even broach the idea that maybe the data is manipulated to look positive and is in reality not positive at all.  It comes down to whether you put trust into government bureaucracy’s honesty in publicly reporting their findings.   I also recognize that in the popular press, doom sells, especially if there is blood involved.   I will also admit that not everything I look at is negative at all.   There are folks out there that are trying to make things better, even the popular press has some positive stuff that I believe actually is happening.

However, in the MSM, there is a huge amount of information that is left out that is distinctively negative.   Any of us that read or listen to other than MSM information can compose long lists of very negative stuff going on that is not reported in the MSM, or very minimally, and almost always of very short duration.   The very real question, is how much of the information, both positive and negative, is factual.

One of the advantages of getting old is having a lot of years to compare present and past events and consequences.   Even though I sometimes wish it weren’t true, situations do change, constantly.   We all have our perceptions on the past that we consider “better” than the changes we experience in the present.  I am not naïve enough to look at all changes as negative all of the time, even if I don’t like those changes.   As expressed in the previous post, I tend to look at the consequences inherent in those changes.   Examples; I do not like the consequences of poisoning the land with pollution and caustic chemicals despite whatever temporary advantages I experience from it being done.   In a longer time frame, it sure appears to me to be damaging and having catastrophic effects.   I can’t believe that there are no long lasting effects that are going to be catastrophic to humans and the biota of this planet in scattering depleted uranium over large areas of land.    Or, the indiscriminant use of herbicides and pesticides that ARE LONG LASTING, I emphasize long lasting, because despite the propaganda put out by the companies selling the stuff.  If any of you have read the information put out by Monsanto and Dow, to name only two of the biggies about putting these chemicals on the ground and into the food supply, you know what I mean.  The suppression of research and refusal to deal with long-term effects is astounding to me.   Oh hell, I forgot, the long term effects compared to short term profits means that long term loses almost every time.   Silly me.

On a positive outlook, most of the positive stuff, IMO, seems to be happening at local levels.   Our area does seem to be interested in home production of food.  IMO, this is a good thing.   We have been battling for 8 years now over ground and surface water contamination.  There are many conflicts of interests on this issue.   But one thing the community can agree on is that we do not want to contaminate the water.   The arguments center around how not to contaminate.   There are large amount of communities in the U.S. that are in the same bind.  In our case, the government bureaucracies have declared a problem that does not currently exist and on an emergency bases formed public policy that is, and has been for 8 years now, very detrimental to the community.   Property is not selling; jobs are near non existence and ALL because of these public policies.   All of this is coming from the Department of Environmental Quality (the DEQ state bureaucracy).  All of their public policy is based on very non scientific conclusions, a whole bunch of faulty assumptions and I suspect some greed thrown in and most definitely job protection, by their own admittance to me.   Despite there being really great folks in the area that we are very much friends with, if we had known about what was happening around this single issue, we would not have moved here.   The result of feeling pressured by circumstances to make a decision without sufficient time to find out about such issues.   We keep meeting more folks that were caught up in the same trap; lack of time, financial resources and reluctance to do due diligence before making a decision.

Freeacre and myself have noticed a distinct escalation of complexity in our daily lives.  Not that we embrace this complexity, but that it is imposed on us by governmental forces and the financialization of everything.   We spend an enormous amount of time dealing with paperwork and getting the needed information to do so.   It didn’t used to be that way.   This complexity of compliance is an escalating problem that is distracting people from very pressing problems that need to be solved.   Most of these issues have fairly simple solutions, but hell no, lets make it so complex that folks have neither the time or ability to sort it all out.   I talked to a state representative a week ago that seemed to feel that 8-10 years of working on a problem was not unreasonable and should be expected, despite the damage it does.

So yes, I find it difficult to see the up side on what is going on locally and the country as a whole.   In fact, it sure appears to me that our situation nationally and globally is deteriorating despite the happy talk that is showing up these days.

Ah, the 'Good Old Days'. May they long be remembered, even if it was a relative mirage. The desperation at the top(.1%) is now as palpable as the confusion and disillusionment at the bottom(99.9%). Even the remaining clueless seem uneasy.

Hunger and fear are powerful motivators, and that force of nature, righteous anger, is never far behind. The needle is almost on Empty. How long can the Big Con continue before it runs out of gas?

Izzy,

Ahhh yes; " How long can the Big Con continue before it runs out of gas?"

That is the question isn't it? Also, what are the consequences?

Those questions are being written about, debated all through the internet and other venues. Freeacre and I thought it would end a long time ago and whatever consequences would be apparent a long time ago. Shows how poor we are at predicting the future.

Those in power do not want the con to end of course. They wield immense resources to see that it doesn't. New rabbits pulled out of the hat daily. I suppose it will end when there are no more rabbits to pull out or the audience boos them off stage.

How many turns do you have to put on a wet rag to get the last drips out? But that's just saying the same thing with different words. I don't know, probably when the 99,9% hit the resource wall. And what sort of world will be left for the 0,1% then. Maybe they figure they will all be raptured up and that is what is meant by “The meek inheriting the Earth.”

Re your next to last paragraph, I think I made the point before, long ago, can't remember where now, that the USG are behaving like the leaders of a cult organization. Once the punters are sucked in, just keep them busy so they don't have time to think. It doesn't matter what they are doing. Any isolated bits of the puzzle will do just so long they don't have time to see the bigger picture.

Hunger and fear are powerful motovators, hence the Codex Alimentarius, Franken seeds and Agenda 21. But something positive happened last year. Hungary (the country) found that unbeknown to them, the normal wheat seeds they usually plant had 'somehow' been substituted for GMO wheat. The governments reaction was to burn every field of GMO crops. I am not sure if they replanted or bought in. This was followed in unusually short order by the European Commission sticking a finger up at Monsanto much to their everlasting chagrin and show of bad grace. Don't believe that this will be the end of the matter though, look at the number of inventive ways Goldman's have found to skin a cat.

Re the Codex, many of you have seen this before but it is still worth a look even if you are not sure.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L128bzYvfdE

A condition of the Codex is that every country that borrows money from the World Bank has to accept the Codex. The video explains the reasons for this. A hope over the horizon is that if at some future time, the BRICS countries form their own rival World Bank they could attract countries whose citizens want to dump the Codex.

Here is an interesting video from Catherine Austin Fitts telling how it really is and why 99% of ordinary people would embrace the drug economy rather than letting the nanny state collapse. Sure not a good sign for the do it yourselfers. At around 25 min mark she deals with the question of those who pattent life forms controlling the world.

I tend to see the UK pollution problems being a lot less visible than they were in the 70's when I was growing up, certainly a lot of the rivers I know well, some were open sewers full of industrial waste, many of those now have sea trout comming right up stream! On the global level I think it's difficult to tell if it's better or worse, we're certainly aware of many more issues globally, but it's difficult to make judgement without listing a bunch of examples.

I've been planning an adventure for the big "five oh my god I'm getting old" next year (present company excepted! lol) I have decided to fly to Vietnam/Laos, buy a motorbike (probably a moped) strap my guitar on tha back and do the Ho Chi Minh trail for my last big adventure! Whilst researching I've seen many examples of vast swaths of jungle still affected by the various defoliants, 40 years on! (not to mention the many genetic issues it caused which are obviously visable). If anyone fancies joining me I'm planning on March just before rainy season! Gd.

Oh, fuck, I forgot about the Codex Alimentarious doom. And the Tapeworm economy doom. Then there is the methane release doom;the coastal earthquake and Yellowstone doom;Fukushima doom;EMT event that takes out the grid doom; dollar collapse doom; false flags; martial law;and alien invasion or WWIII.

Definitely time to fulfill the bucket list of things to do before you die. GD, it sounds like you have the right idea!

Hey, Belgium, what do you think of Nigel Farge? Boy, he can confront those other guys in the EU, can't he? Wow!

FA: For sure the doom meter is way more into the red than when I was growing up! (besides the fallout from the missile crisis, CND, Windscale, chernobyil, Rwanda (well the whole of Africa really) the 70's depression and the 3 day week, and going to bed with hunger pains etc.

I think my relatively recent change of focus has more to do with my Fathers illness and passing than I previously thought.

I had been pretty focused on solutions, Permaculture etc. but no-one locally seems at all interested, even the permacultureists blanked me when I held an open day, didn't even reply to the invites (bar one apology).

I kinda noticed there was a distinct lack of a sense of fun & adventure in my life, I decided to change that once it was on my radar, so I focused on music, meditation, and bought a classic 4x4 to restore and get out there exploring our green and pleasent land. It sure beats a life focused on doom.

I sense a fun deficiency on this blog, what is everyone doing to have fun? :) Gd.

GD,

You bring up a salient point; "
I sense a fun deficiency on this blog, what is everyone doing to have fun? :) Gd."

For myself, "fun" activities is brief but steady. I insist on playing bridge every Fri for 3 1/2 hours at a local bridge club. And that's about it. The rest of the time is spent working on projects around here. The problem I have is that keeping this place up is a full time job for me, I simply can't work as hard or as fast anymore and most jobs take 1/2 again to twice as long to get done as I used to be able to do. So, less time for "fun" activities.

So, that leaves me with the predicament of how much to take on. I am seriously considering dropping a lot of the regular stuff next year and I find myself feeling irritated at that. We have a fairly substantial garden, chickens and rabbits to take care of on a daily basis. And yet, I have the feeling that these are essential to keep up.

Getting old is not for the faint of heart.

Good ol' Nigel Ferage :) When you are the boss of your own independent party, you are anti Europe and just happen to have a European Parliment seat, you don't give a flying F*** and are articulate, you can have all the fun you want and get away with it. Nigel is a good guy IMO but there are some ultra right anti Europe groups that are forming a loose allience. A French group cantered around the daughter of Le Penn and German Faciest groups together with some others from different European countries. Kinda makes you raise an eyebrow and make a mental note not to put them on the forget list.

God, Gd you have 20 : 20 memory for a five oh whipersnapper:) I remember Bertie Russell leading the yearly CND march from London to Aldermaston, the nuclear testing labs with their ban the bomb slogans. The original ban the bomb symbol which was supposed to (loosely) represent an enclosed rocket on a launching pad was later co-opted as the peace symbol?? A rocket on a launching pad representing peace is a prime bit of newthink IMO. I guess you know that after the fire in the nuclear reactor at Windscale, they renamed it Seascale so that people would no longer make the connection !! Aldermaston kind of dropped from the public eye but they were one of the few places that were monotoring background radiation levels. Somebody in England made a FIA request and it was reported that the radiation from the Chernobyl accident took nearly three days to reach England. The last I heard was that Aldermaston had been sold in the privatisation whoopee. Guess who to? Halliburton!!

When you are new to doom you soak it up like a dry sponge but some time later you gradually become aware that the sponge is getting full. You still need to be aware but realise it is time to make time for other things in your life before it becomes doom burnout. That's why I went quiet here some time back. I went quiet on the guitar also, deaths in the family and neighbours. We had a couple of mini holidays, mid week weekends if you like, then I got sick but all the way through there were little projects to keep me busy. There are two sorts of people that retire. Those who sit in front of the TV and drop dead and those who never have enough hours to fit it all in.

The Ho Chi Minh Trail huh. (thoughtful smily). There was talk of checking Equador out last year but that seemed to have withered on the vine. There is always time for the big adventure. Mine always seemed to involve South America somewhere, from the ease of my armchair. :-) Over here thay have a saying, either I have a new front door (or a new number on the front door) or I am sitting on the next tram refering to another ten turns around the sun. Last month I hopped off tram 6 and sprung onto tram, 7. But like I keep saying to the klines (Grandkids) age is between your ears not a date when you were born.

Talk of the Ho Chi Minh Trail reminded me of something that happened when I worked for Big Chem in England. I have just checked it out And I know the exact date it happened. It was 1 May 1975. There was a PhD who had a project in the lab next to the one where I worked. His private interest was electronics and communications, long before what the internet is what it is today. He had a short wave radio system which accepted written word instead of broadcasts and this was connected to a ticker tape machine. Essentially he got whatever Reuters received. On that day he came into the lab with a roll of tape five or six inches in diameter. It was from General Van Tein Dung claiming victory for the Viet Cong in their war. I guess that was quite a historic message. I remember he was unrolling the tape along a lab bench and reading it and somebody else was rolling it back up. That was a nice memory.

Hobbies and interests. I think it all depends on how you view the task ahead. Little projects can be a pleasure if you take your time and work your way through them. If you regard the same task as a chore then you are going to approach it with bad grace and the pleasure sinks through the floor. This is particularly so if you set yourself a time limit then you rush the job just to get it done. I have just finished a project in the bathroom. I wanted to throw away the stand alone wash basin because it looked a bit odd by itself and get one of those built in thingies. I horrified myself when I priced them up and Chris said if I ever popped my clogs and the landlord wanted it putting back in original condition, she could not do it. Finished up buying a chest of draws from Ikea cutting the form of the wash basin and the waste pipes out of the top and back; modifieng the draws to accommodate the waste pipes, setting the whole thing on wheels so it can be cleaned underneath and putting a worktop over the whole thing supported from the walls. I brought the whole thing in for about 20% of those from the specialist shops and got a bit of satisfaction out of doing it. Now I have gone laptop we are going to throw the computer table away so I will have to install a double pull out shelf in one of the other cupboards to accommodate the printer. Going to throw away the gas cooker and fit in a gas hob with pull out shelves undreneath and in between I have to clean the fish tank out and sort out the front garden. Then at some unspecified time in the future there is painting the living and sanding down all the internal doors. As I said before, it all depends on how you view these things. I once briefly worked with a joiner. He was doing some gardening work with me just to keep the money flowing. He said to me “Give me a saw and a formica worktop and you can stuff your Domminican Republic”. It is just whatever makes you happy.

Another interest is world cinema. I do know that this is a passive interest and some films are of variable quality, some top notch and others so - so. I like to see what different cultures are doing with this medium and how they approach their subject.

I have found that hobbies go around, sometimes you are in for this thing and sometimes another thing. For me such hobbies are more fore the winter months. One thing I used to do was to take a photograph and make a mosaic from the same image. The only supplier of materials in Belgium stopped with it and the only alternative was to order direct from the manufacturer in Sweeden. So far I have not done this. I think I know why they gave up. There was a very tricky stage between finishing the work and mounting it in a frame where if you were not careful, and sometimes even if you were, the whole image could come apart and leave you with much repair work. I actually found a work around to their prefered method but if you can't get the stuff it is a bit of a bind. Chris bought a different system to try but it is more intricate and her hand control following the stroke is not good enough so maybe I will try it when the nights draw in. My it is only five minutes since the clocks went forward and here we are in a week, sitting on the longest day. I think I said before that life is like a toilet roll, the nearer you get to the end, the faster it goes.

The local big box store had an electric fret saw (US scroll saw) in last week and I thought to revive the abandoned model sailing ship hobby and maybe make some interesting cut outs from wood. Looked it up on the internet and read some bad reports of this moddel, people could not get replacement bits for it so maybe I buy one from a real shop and that can be something new for the dark nights.

Aho.

Gd@Murph: I'm with ya on getting irritated at the thought of abandoning sections of the garden/project, I still hold the finished vision of my design plan for the site in my minds eye. Most of the annual beds were the first to go (after months of deliberating) they were by far the most work to maintain with a bad back, now about an acre of nettles (nettle soup is really quite nice tho LOL).

I kept all the perennial beds, a bit of weeding and a good heavy mulching with composted woodchip, or straw for the strawberrys (bumper crop atm), seems to keep it all in check for the year. The forest garden is probably my best acomlishment, the cow parsley and nettles look like they're taking over, but wade through them and there's a good layer of woodchip mulch around each tree sat in an oasis of Comfrey (dynamic accumilators), there's been a bit of rabbit damage this winter, lost a couple of apple trees this year to them, some of the prunus have succome to a fungal infection on the tops, but it looks like a bunper crop of fruit and nuts later this year, so with that as encouragement I still plan to plant a lot more trees, more fruit and nuts and expand the coppice area.

My original plan was to develop a demonstration & teaching site for permaculture techniques, but if a green oasis appears in mans barren brownfield and no-one sees it, does it make a sound? Was I planning it for us, or was I doing it for an egotistical badge of honour? I don't know for sure. I don't see a doomstead as being quite as important as I once did. If the SHTF I can soon re-establish the annuals, presumeably with a lot more help as the communities priorities will also change in that scenareo, it's time may come, but not at the expense of my health/glassback in the meantime!

The bottom of the field has only just dried out enough for me to get the mower down to our willow circle, if it stays relatively dry next week we'll have a big BBQ for the community, invite some of my musical friends for the weekend and have a good old time :)

I'll have to find a recipe for Artichokes, seem to have loads, it's like a set from Jurassic park, I've never even taisted them!

SATS: 20:20 memory, too funny! I'll reply later, you've jogged a few memories there ;)

Forgot to mention the car we got just over a year ago. Because Chris is officially disabled, we have lots of deals on public transport which we have used to get all over Belgium and I don't have a problem travelling with others. Even though it is a lot more expensive the car is a lot more convenient and gets us out into the country a lot more. For instance, going to Chris's daughter in Limburg involved a bus to town and then two trains. Then her daughter had to pick us up from the station because the village where she lives doesn't even have a shop or a pub and only two school busses a day. Now we can be door to door in an hour and a quarter. There are lots of interesting places in Belgium which we go to but the border areas of Holland are our usual go to places. The rivres Schelde; Mass and Rhine all flow into the North sea within a few miles of each orher and the delta breaks up into lots of islands. There is pleanty of coast and nature and interesting towns also. So far the furthest place we have been to is Switzerland.

I know the frustration of giving up on parts of the garden, or any other project for that matter, seems like personal failure but the proper way to look at it is recognising changes and just setting different priiorities. It is not personal.

Gd, I guess you are talking about Jerusalem artichokes and not their globe cousins. The best use for these is as a super fast growing privacy screen. The roots are sometimes called poor mans potatoes but even poor men don't eat them. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. They look nobbley like ginger and are a bugger to peel. There is a reason why you never see them in the shops, even the ethnic ones. IMO they are eatable but not edible.

Thanks for the song from Billy Bragg and Wilco with Natalie Merchant. I have had that CD for years but never put it on anymare and had forgotten about that track. I had a storage problem when we downsized to this appartment so I got a DJ's box with slip cases in and threw all the boxes away. Now it is an effort to get that box out again. Maybe it is time to look through it again and find some hidden treasures.

Gd,
My soul is stormy and my heart is wild.
That is the reason I have been radio silent.
The grief, blame and loss hang like a millstone around my neck.
Because of my inability to find a release or acceptance, the compressed entropy inside of me alienates me from those that I care most about and effectively isolates me into a self-made prison.
I have moved my life across country away from my beloved Montana to be with someone who holds my heart, but until I get to the root of the root and the bud of the bud of my inner desolation, to paraphrase E.E. Cummings, I stand great chance of failing, in the forming of a creative enriching life experience, that will not come my way again. I am a 54 year old woman, askew on the winds, and drifting ever closer to the rip tides.
To fight this encroachment, I turn to my horses. I deeply admire Buck Brennerman. He is a man of horses who suffered deeply as a child, but out of his trauma and pain, he has created something beautiful and unique in his approach to horses.
I emulate his methods and beliefs.
I am always searching for the deep bond and trust and by a synchronistic turn of chance, which I think my son had an influence, a book fell into my hands about another man of horses.
The book is, "Dancing With Horses".
It is the discipline or belief system of collected riding on a loose rein. A heart bond between horse and rider. A true interaction and communication between two disparate beings. The author is Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling.
To me, it is the beginning of a beautiful, Journey to Ithaca.
I stand with my horses and lean my face into their necks. I breathe deeply of their rich earthy scent.
They give me strength to keep standing. Maybe the bond and the peace that I feel when I am with them will help me towards centering. I look forward to this.
I think, that as an animal behaviorist, you will find these two men and their ways, intense, mindchallenging and breaking new ground in accepted viewpoints.
I respect your intellect and viewpoints on different subjects and look forward to an exchange with you, should you choose to look into these men and their belief systems, pursuant to horses.
So nice to "hear" your voice and know that you had me in your thoughts. Best to you and yours and a definite thumbs up for a nod to creativity, music and joy in one's life.

SAS and GD,

Jerusalem artichokes are good eating, although a bitch to prepare. They are also considered a noxious weed in parts of the country. They can be used for animal feed too.

I tried to get some going because they are supposed to grow about anywhere, failed on that. Had some started last year in the greenhouse and then had the fire.

I might try them again if I can find another source for the tubers.

We have had 3 consecutive days of below average temps and has slowed down the growth in the garden considerably.

Deer seem to be around more this year and keep the dogs agitated at night. Been fairly dry so maybe not much growth for food they like. Time to start foraging off of human efforts. sigh.

I appologise if some of those songs to go I sent you were too personal. Sometimes I don't know if it will help or it is a step too far. A long time ago someone that worked for me once said that others hit hard but I can cut deep. Thankfully, I do it only rarely, mostly I am really nice :-) :-) We are friends so if it is like that, you will tell me and I will retrace my steps.

Mf, WTF was that comment all about, you been hitting the disapproved of powder products again? Y'know, I can understand that you didn't like the song, it is not for everybody but there again it wasn't directed at you. Maybe it was a mistake to put it up on the blog but I did and I am not taking it back down. What I find inexcusable is the personal attack on another Clan member. Everybody has from time to time suffered personal tragedy and each person deals deals with it in a different way. I don't remember anyone excusing themselves to puke when you told that your son had been killed in a quad bike accident or that your sister had been diagnosed with late stage cancer. You see, the site doesn't just go about needy women. Sometimes men are involved as well. Let us play the game of suppose. I know this is not the case but imagine you had serviced the quad bike and it was later found that during the fatal ride the throttle had stuck open. It would still be a tragedy but would you have not viewed it in a different way. I am not privy to any privileged information that you don't have, I don't know and it is not my business to know, but suppose that in another instance, something was done that shouldn't have been done or something wasn't done that should have been done and this was part of a chain of events which led to a tragic situation, would that not have been a more difficult situation to deal with? Everyone needs to find or try to find, their own peace in their own way. A friendly word at an appropriate time is not a solution but knowing someone else is on your side will go a long way to help. A macho dismissal of others feelings to boost your own hubris will not. And don't forget, we have all been on the receiving end at one time or another.
We are still mates but I will not put up with personal attacks on any other member of the group. For my part, I will not put up any more songs on the blog and this is where I want the current situation to end.

Moving on and changing the subject, the old free will argument has come around again. It now seems that scientific experiments have conclusively proved that we don't have it. Common sense tells us that If we decide on some action, then that decision begins in the concious brain. Conciousness then directs the motor cortex to perform the action and the motor cortex directs the central nervous system to perform the action, picking up a coffee cup or kicking a football or whatever. Now it seems that isn't how it works. The initial urge starts in the motor cortex about a third of a second before conciousness becomes aware of it and the motor cortex instructs the CNS to activate the appropriate muscles to perform the desired task. Maybe this is part of the survival fight or flight mechanism. In experiments participants were asked to flex their fingers at time they felt like. Electrical signals were measured in the concious brain, the motor cortex and in the fingers. Signals were first sensed in the motor cortex and these went to conciousness then to the CNS and then the muscles. This makes sense in a weird way. A situation nearly all of us have experienced is pulling away from traffic lights in our car in first gear and a few seconds later we are cruising along in top gear without any clear idea of how we got there. Fortunately there is a rider. It seems that there is a window of about 3/20 of a second between the conciousness getting the signal and the CNS being activated. In this time the instruction from the motor cortex can be over ridden and aborted. The overall effect is the same. We can still achieve the effect we desire but what we have is not free will but free won't. Strange isn't it? Here is a short article describing it.

It is only a short article p, probably twice the length of the comment you have just read. The initial urge has to start somewhere and they are saying that the originating site in the brain is the motor cortex. Suppose there was a cave man who casually wandered around a large rock and walked into a T Rex eyeing him up as a tasty mid day snack. He isn't going to spend a lot of time weighing up the pro's and con's of his situation. The motor cortex takes control and gets him clearing off before the conciousness weighs up his options . The point is that it isn't the conciousness that generates the original signal but it has the the ability to overide the original signal if on balance it dedcides otherwise.

Nah it's globe Artichokes, seen a few recipies but none that really appeal, any ideas? I'll have a bucket full if I crop them!

Nigel Ferage: Long story short, limited hangout IMO.

I can remember sitting on my fathers shoulders age 2 or 3 during a CND march!

S.America was my #1 destination choice for an adventure since I was in my teens and I read there was no road connecting S to N. America. I got to work in Columbia for a time in the 90's, a most excellent time was had out in some remote one hourse town, the thought of this little story always makes me smile. We had to fly 2 hours from Cartajena, and ride a dirt road for another few hours to get there (oil pipeline terminal town E. coast somewhere). Although Spanish is my best second language it's still only limited, I couldn't remember anything food wise when it came to ordering food for our little party at a roadside eatery. It had compacted dirt floors, served by two 12yo girls in rags and bare feet, it looked like the place had sprung up and evolved around a very big Mango tree. So there I am impersonating a chicken to break the language barrier, these two little girls were rolling around laughing at me, I kept going well beyond the point that they understood, they had laughter tears rolling down their faces :)) By the end of the first week, we had established a very good relationship with the girls and their mother who ran the establishment. Then our Agent arrived. He was Argentinian, full of self importance, and a more slimey individual you are unlikely to ever meet (can you tell I didn't like him from the get go?) We pulled up outside the eatery with him in tow, he starts bawling at our driver for taking us there, he made threats, you could read the fear on the drivers face... cont next post

Anonymous said...

...Not really knowing what had happened because of the language barrier, we allowed the agent to take us somewhere else, the main town cafe. This was a proper shit hole, althouh it had a tiled floor and proper tables n chairs, it was minging, flies on everything. I made a stand and promptly refused to eat there, so did the rest of our group. Agent lost face bigtime as we went back to our favorite establishment, for the most part he kept quiet, until he saw the youngest of the two girls, his stance changed, his actions became very unapropriate towards the young girl, her mother saw it all going on but she was too scared to say anything, I was exchanging knowing glances towards my dive buddy, without a word we both spontaniously stood up, grabbed the agent by the neck and removed him to the rear of the establishment for a lesson in moral values ;) Our driver took him away while we were enjoying our meal, and we never saw him again until we returned to Cartajena. We were treated like kings for the rest of our stay in that town :)) I doubt very much I'll ever make the S.America tour I always want to, never say never, but I think my Ho Chi Minh trail adventure will be one of my last!

Seeker: Where are you now you've left Montanna? Did your old truck get you there, and with your horses too, that must have been another big upheaval? Have you lost the shack (and the garden) now or will you be going back at some point?
It's great that you've found a life coach so intertwined with horses, I watched a few videos of Claus, I'm put off by the presentation a bit, seems too comercialised for my liking (much the same as Caesar Milan puts me off) but that's not to say anything about him or his behavoir knowledge; I don't like Ceasars presentation, his celebrity "worship" or his craving for acknowledgement, but I still read his books and use some of his techniques! Is there a video or presentation that explains some of Claus's techniques without the styleised presentation? I saw him using a whip, which seems reminiscent of Monty, as in a little confrontational, but it's difficult to get a handle on the whys and wherefores from the videos I saw :/

FA: thanks for sharing "Slomo" made my day, now there's a guy who really gets it IMO, I shall smile every time I think of him :)

SATS: Free will? Bah, that research is flawed IMO, they start with the assumption they can measure consiousness and know where it comes from to measure it! I think they put a quantum on muscle memory ;)

I read a piece written by a psychologist who was reading through Army reports and came across a document describing policy changes the Army made to allow certain soldiers to keep their hair long. Seems Native Americans had been recruited as scouts for their demonstrated extra sensory abilities. When bivouacked by themselves in the bush and attacked by friendlies, time and again, the recruits, with long hair, sensed impending danger and successfully avoided assault. When the hair was shaved off, these same individuals lost their precognitive abilities, thus prompting the Army to create a special dispensation for these men. The author claimed to have stopped shaving and cutting his hair upon reading this report.

Rp, That video was interesting, although it is similar to what we have already experienced in nuclear detonations. First there is the flash, then there is the shock wave and then there is the radiation. That kind of makes sense since if photons are released they will be the fastest moving particles and you will see them through the skin of the balloon before the shock wave breaks the surface. I don't know what the strand like things are, maybe some recombination of oxygen and hydrogen to form steam but I am not sure why that should be localised.

Those army reports sure give credence to the Samson story although it didn't do a whole bunch for General Custer :-)

Good Morning Murph, I,like you are one of the old fellas and tend to be pretty cynical regarding bureaucrats and their actions as most seem self-serving. Yet, to the world we are leaving to our younger folks methinks small pockets of sustainability can be found. In our area South and to the West of you we are developing small markets of growers and crafters reminiscent of the 60's. The exchange of skills between us old folks and younger people is building, not as strongly or as quickly as I would like but building. Gardening and raising animals, building and repairing of tools and shelter is moving forward, in spite of the filth and avarice being done by the PTB. In my opinion there seems to be a core group of folks in this country that just don't know how to quit, so what is developing is an underground economy which only pays lip service to government but continues on in spite of its actions. Onward thru the Fog and best to all.

Take for instance the hurt that each human being suffers from childhood. One is hurt by one’s parents, psychologically; then hurt in school, in university, through comparison, through competition, through saying one must be first-class at this subject, and so on. Throughout life there is this constant process of being hurt. One knows this, and that all human beings are hurt, deeply, of which they may not be conscious, and that from this all forms of neurotic actions arise. That is all part of one’s consciousness—part hidden and part open awareness that one is hurt. Now, is it possible not to be hurt at all? Because the consequences of being hurt are the building of a wall around oneself, withdrawing in one’s relationship with others in order not to be hurt more. In that there is fear and a gradual isolation. Now, we are asking: Is it possible not only to be free of past hurts but also never to be hurt again?

BUTCHERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY ARE TALKING ABOUT LACK OF MEAT COMING INTO THEIR STORES-SOME AREAS NONE WHATSOEVER

Steve, Hawk, After reading on your site about Israel attacking known terrorist sites, and rereading brother Bob's vision. I looked at Hawks alerts..I took it to the Lord in prayer and knew that it is beginning...July 1, 2014 is the beginning of all the dire things that have been predicted over the years. So I went to Save A Lot and took the butcher a few alerts from your site. When he read about the Burger King closing due to lack of food. He looked at me and said that it did not surprise him, he did not get any beef on the truck and a few weeks back he could not get a certain cut of pork that the store had on sale. He looked at me and said it is getting worse, he told me that they want to crash the dollar I agreed with him... I told him about the prophecy that you had posted and the Rick Wiles spoke about last evening...I said , you see those oil fields burning get what every you can, gas, propane supplies try to do it now because once that happens you may have a very short window to do so. He promised me he will talk with his wife and do what he can. So I left that store and stopped at Food Lion ,which was on my way home they had boneless chicken breast for 1.99 and I wanted some for the 4th. I do have some in the freezer but I did not want to deplete what I had, I went to the meat section and did not see any, so I rang the butchers bell and he came to the door and said he has been out and the truck has not gotten there yet the truck was late. The Butcher said he won't know if any is coming in until he gets the supplies off the truck!!!!What I find odd was that I had called Save A Lot and Gary told me the truck was late, Gary's truck had no Beef, on the fourth of July weekend?Food Lion was out of Boneless Chicken Breast Fourth of July weekend ? Plus every bodies truck was late now don't forget the Burger King was so late it never showed. This is a heads up folks, go to your pantry's take a good hard look, baking soda is still 59 cents in some stores. Please don't forget the salt and sugar....GET WHAT YOU CAN.... CAN WHAT YOU CAN..Also all you ladies that can jam's and jellies, butter and cheese three different stores were out of jelly jars I got some at the Farm Supply I also picked up some extra scratch for the chickens. Oh one more thing that was very odd, my retirement check came 4 days early..I am not complaining it helped me get supplies but that usually doesn't happen unless the first is a holiday or on a weekend... .....My brothers and sisters in CHRIST, stay safe, stay alert, and as Hawk and Steve always say there is POWER IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS...Thank you my Brothers for all you do....Joy

The official narative goes like this, The Obama admin cut the subsidies to the meat processing industry who reacted by laying off the meat inspectors. Without these it could not meet its legal obligation to supply meat fit for human consumption. The Government sequestered all available supplies for the machienery of state (the military) hence shortages in the shops. Is it the beginning of the end of the dollar? That depends if other goods also go off supply in the short term. But it could be the end of the beginning of the end of the dollar. It seems to be a contrived “Get used to this” situation. IMO what is going on is that instead of slamming the brake pedal to the floor they are slamming the clutch pedal to the floor instead. Another wait and see situation.

Same types of shortages are occurring in the medical field. Hospitals are reporting they're unable to get common items, such as saline and tetracycline.

In California, Arizona and Texas, the problem is drought. In the upper Mississippi Valley, rain has damaged the farmland so severely, crops may not be harvested this season. Five inches of rain in a twenty-four hour period over last weekend in Tennessee, Missouri, Iowa and the Dakotas.

Now, check out Christine LaGarde's numerology speech she gave to the National Press Club in Washington in January of this year. WTF? is she talking about? The head of the IMF gives the presstitutes a lesson in the occult?

Hmm, Interesting. I seem to recall, whatever recall is, that my formless field of energy has intermingled with other formless fields of energy and my formless field of energy derived much pleasure from said experience. But since there is only one overall formless field of energy of which we are all part, does that mean that the said pleasure was only reflected from the overall formless field of energy? In fact it could have been reflected from myself. That doesn't seem to be an altogether healthy situation to me ;-(

Okay, I have settled down now. It is easy to have a harmless fun poke like this but we should all be open to new ideas and at least consider them. Nothing should be discounted out until serious consideration has been given to all of the conclusions. Sometimes a serious researcher makes wrong inferences but their research allows others to identify this wrong step and propose a more satisfying interpretation. For instance, it is generally held (although not altogether accepted) that Freud got the whole thing back to front but if he hadn't done that initial body of work, no one would have looked for a different interpretation of the results. I take the view that there are no unknowable things only things that are unknown and the more we learn the less there is to learn. I am willing to concede that we may only be a short way along the path of knowing but that shouldn't stop us.

Darwinism is still the big subject that evokes the most emotional responses and I must admit there seems to be compelling arguments from both sides. It seems trite to suggest that God wanted different animals on the Galapagos Islands to anywhere else in the world and more likely that they developed in accordance to their specialised environment. On the other hand, biological examples of irreducible complexity, the mechanism of blood clotting for example, are highly unlikely to have sprung into existence fully formed and are so complicated it is impossible for them to have improved from a lower state. The thing I find inexcusable is that whilst the debate is unresolved some universities have destroyed irreplaceable artefacts that don't happen to fit into their world view.

It also seems that all those centuries ago when mankind lived closer to nature we were more in tune with it. As life became more complicated, we had less use for this awareness and gradually lost it. In some respects we are far behind many animal species, the migration of birds for example. It wasn't until the age of computers we were able to figure out that Stonehenge was primarily a calender, amongst other things. Whilst we learn more, the rate of unknowing has increased. In other words, together with what we have naturally lost, we are intentionally being dumbed down. Each new edition of dictionaries has simpler definitions of words resulting in the subtitles of language being lost. Wasn't that Winston Smith's job as I seem to recall. Go into any main library now and ask for the Complete OED or a Rubber Book and I will guarantee I will know the blank stare that will come back at you.

Going back to the mind and conciousness thing where we came in, I have heard that removing part and even half of the brain has eliminated some unusual malfunctions. It has even been said we would be better off without the right half altogether. I have also heard that splitting the right and left lobes has completely cured some epileptic patients. I am sure we have all had the experience of double, double clicking on a You Tube link and watching one clip with sound whilst we are getting the sound from another open tab in the background. The second tab to be clicked is playing about half a second behind the first. Apparently, this is akin to epilepsy. A signal is generated from one half of the brain and this is reflected like an echo from the other lobe. The part of the brain that tries to make sense of this cannot do so and goes into a schism which we call epilepsy.

This from Brain Story (6 X 50 min)

Rp Mighty interesting, we might be in for a bumpy ride.

I also think that we spend way too much time on questions that will never be answered rather than the ones that are potentially knowable. I guess we will just have to leave that up to Monsanto and Dow.

Back to the ongoing. Yes the football thingy, Our little land has done exceptionally well. In the quarter finals now. They will find Argentina a more difficult challenge. England have not done so well, sent home after the first part of the competition. If Alf Ramsey could see them now.....! I will tell you something about the English. The invent a game, get good at it but need some real competition so they tell the world about it. Other countries take it up, get good and then thrash the living daylights out of the English time and again so the English go out and invent another game.

What is that saying Fa, procrastination waits for no man, or something like that. ;) I have heard that ice cream is not all that good for you so better hold on to your handbag and pat your purse. It is kinda nice though. It is said you can get used to anything. Many years ago I got used to not having eggs and bacon for breakfast and now I don't miss it, same thing with sugar in tea and coffee. In my youth, yes I did have one, I started to get a beer belly and I thought something has got to be done about this so I cut out sugar in tea and coffee. Now can't go back to it but it is never as good as it was with the sugar – rats.

I don't understand the purpose of that Lagaard speech. There was no hint, hint speech before 9/11 nor 7/7 or the Madrid train bomb, so what is going on. If there is a meltdown it will probably happen on the 27th just when we have all relaxed. It might be another end of the long count calander but there again...

I said I wasn't going to put a song up again so I am calling it a poem instead. It was originally read by Laughing Lanny Cohen and it is a bit long for a song.

The Future (seems apt)

Give me back my broken night
My mirrored room, my secret life
It's lonely here
There's no one left to torture
Give me absolute control
Over every living soul
And lie beside me, baby
That's an order
Give me crack and anal sex
Take the only tree that's left
And stuff it up the hole
In your culture
Give me back the Berlin wall
Give me Stalin and St. Paul
I've seen the future, brother
It is murder
Things are going to slide, slide in all directions
Won't be nothing
Nothing you can measure anymore
The blizzard, the blizzard of the world
Has crossed the threshold and it has overturned
The order of the soul
When they said repent repent
I wonder what they meant
When they said repent repent
I wonder what they meant
When they said repent repent
I wonder what they meant
You don't know me from the wind
You never will, you never did
I'm the little Jew
Who wrote the Bible
I've seen the nations rise and fall
I've heard their stories, heard them all
But love's the only engine of survival
Your servant here, he has been told
To say it clear, to say it cold
It's over, it ain't going
Any further
And now the wheels of heaven stop
You feel the devil's riding crop
Get ready for the future
It is murder
Things are going to slide, slide in all directions
Won't be nothing
Nothing you can measure anymore
The blizzard, the blizzard of the world
Has crossed the threshold and it has overturned
The order of the soul
When they said repent repent
I wonder what they meant
When they said repent repent
I wonder what they meant
When they said repent repent
I wonder what they meant
There'll be the breaking of the ancient western code
Your private life will suddenly explode
There'll be phantoms
There'll be fires on the road
And the white man dancing
You'll see a woman hanging upside down
Her features covered by her fallen gown
And all the lousy little poets coming round
Tryin' to sound like Charlie Manson
And the white man dancin'
Give me back the Berlin wall
Give me Stalin and St. Paul
Give me Christ
Or give me Hiroshima
Destroy another fetus now
We don't like children anyhow
I've seen the future, baby
It is murder
Things are going to slide, slide in all directions
Won't be nothing
Nothing you can measure anymore
The blizzard, the blizzard of the world
Has crossed the threshold and it has overturned
The order of the soul
When they said repent repent
I wonder what they meant
When they said repent repent
I wonder what they meant
When they said repent repent
I wonder what they meant
When they said repent repent

That was a very interesting hypothesis over the hollow Earth, very high on plausibility. It is the best hypothesis so far for explaining observed phenomena however there were a few I's and T 's that needed to be dotted and crossed. I will list the things that occurred to me that need a more satisfactory explanation. I know it is a new theory and it needs to be polished but these are the points which I see need to be looked at more cosely.

He didn't mention the atmosphere at all and the higher layers of the Earths gaseous surround. Presumably the water came from venting steam and likely the oxygen came from the breakdown of water which is fairly obvious but where did the hydrogen go to? Why is there so high proportion of nitrogen in the atmosphere, was that there to begin with. If water vents through the magma then why is there not more sulphur in the atmosphere?

In the NASA experiment the tea leaves distributed themselves fairly evenly on the surface of the spinning water globule but the introduced air appeared to form a gaseous cylinder along the axis of rotation. This would indicate the the Earth's crust would be weaker at the poles which is not what we observe. He seems to be saying that the pressure of steam will cause it to occupy the whole inner sphere evenly independent of the effects of spin, so which is it? Is it dependent on quantity and pressure. What would have happened if NASSA had introduced more air into the globule?

He is saying that the Earth remained frozen for around three billion years until radioactive decay gradually heated the ice core up to first form water and then steam. In that case it should have contracted before it expanded. Is there any evidence for this contraction and is this contraction where the tectonic plates came from? He was giving Thorium decay as a mechanism for this heating. I have looked this up and thorium has only one natural isotope which has a half life of 7,900 years. Even at this long time there would be not much of it left over after three billion or so years. I have followed the decay down five levels (although there are more) through Radium; Actinium, Francium and Astatine. Some have half lives in years and some only in days. I am not saying his theory is wrong just that it is unlikely that thorium decay is the route.

Overall, although it still appears to have a few rough edges it is the most satisfying explanation so far.

Interesting ponderings SATS!

I went off on a slightly different tack when the difference between the two competing "expanding earth" theories was compared, so I looked at the possibility that the centre of gravity may not be the centre of mass.

One thing they don't seem to hypothesize, what if the gasses were plasma? Course you'd have to have researched anti-gravity/free energy to see the connection.

There's a few more videos connected to the original theory, the annimations showing age of the Earths crust though time were very convincing for me.

Seems to me the difference between "consensus" theory and the "expanding" theory lie in subduction zones, I need to look at the literature for this and get a handle on the evidence for the subduction theories. I have done some research in the past concerning the fact that all major oil fields lie in subduction zones (you'll read a lot on this if you research abiotic oil) so I know there are at least two competing theories regarding subduction and how it happens, more digging required before I get a handle on it tho. Gd.

rockpicker said...

One piece of evidence used to substantiate the subduction theory is the preponderance of volcanoes that that occur exactly where the theory predicts, on the continents, directly over subduction zones. The vulcanism associated with the west coasts of the Americas is a good example. The theory is that molten sea floor is subducted under the edge of continents and pulled down into the mantle, where it melts and, some of it anyway, is forced back to the surface as volcanic magma. That seems to make sense to me.

murph said...

One interesting question I think is if the expanding earth concept has validity, what will be the effect on subduction zones. Boom?!

rockpicker said...

Murph, that's the rub. The two theories are mutually exclusive, as I understand it. Proponents of the expanding earth don't believe in subduction. For me, that's a problem.

murph said...

RP,

Yup, and I noticed that you used the term "two theories". In other words, we don't really know if either concept is true. Just maybe it is both ideas working together, or maybe another concept out there is a better description of what is happening. Cripes, maybe God is doing it.

So, I am back to the question of; what is the effect on my life of any of these theories? If any of them are true, what do I do around it?

I've done some searching for the origin of the statement so often used by the Chamber of Commerce; If you aren't growing you are dying. Can't find its origin. Anyone out there have info on this?

we get all tripped up with seemingly contradictory explanations/evidence/theories/etc. yet, seemingly contradictory dynamics do co-exist. big al's struggle to fit his relativity into quantum and vicie versie is a good example.

one possible explanation is shift in dimension from one to another to another to another. various realities are relative to various dimensions. many realize and acknowledge that, while existing in body in what's called the 3rd dimension, various other dimensions do exist yet hold them off-limits or inaccessible as long as we exist in physical body. i highly suspect this is erroneous...p

Anybody check out the latest Immediacy Report from Cliff High at Halfpasthuman? It's a real doomfest. He goes with expanded earth with a plasma center from the electric universe theory. He says we are experiencing a polar magnetic shift and that leaves our magnetosphere weak in places. This will allow more ultra-violet rays in that can burn us as well as our crops and foliage. Famine results, as well as new inventions. Lots of talk of dollar crashing, precious metals fluctuating and then going way up eventually. Some sort of black swan event around the 20th or 21st of this month. Some weird space aliens talk relating to Greenland somehow. The Global Coastal Event may be in 2018 or 19 and will take 5 generations to get over it.

But, heck, I was kinda happy to hear that there was still going to be a 2018 or 19.

Been away for the weekend, dog sitting and Chicken sitting and cat sitting and canary sitting and house sitting :) Got back and decided to catch up on the comments. I am just speculating like the rest of us and I will put down the thoughts that occurred to me. I saw a TV documentary years ago where they were making claims that subduction of the Pacific plate under the Eurasian plate off the coast of Japan was responsible for a great deal of life on earth since it put the majority of water vapour into the atmosphere because it happened out at sea. I am not supporting the scope or validity of this claim only that subduction does seem to be a real process. What I am failing to see is the reason why expanding Earth and subduction should be mutually exclusive theories. If the Earth is a ball of pressurised gas with a surface crust stopping the outside from imploding like a burst football then the earth will keep its form. The inside surface layer will be molten magma and for simplicity, because I don't understand all the geological layers, there will eventually be a solid crust. If there is subduction that layer will descend into the molten magma layer and liquefy, or become some intermediate plastic state. The subducted material will become part of the general plastic inner layer of the skin. The crust will largely stay where it is. Pressure from within will force magma through the crust in different places such as the Mid Atlantic Ridge. If the rate of magma ejection is greater than the rate of subduction then the Earth will expand which is what we observe and the skin of the Earth will get thinner which is what is postulated in the video. This can be supported by changes in gravity over time which was also explained. One interesting thing, at least to me, is after a volcano has blown then why does it stop? We all know entropy will go from a higher state to a lower state so once the process has started then it should continue until the pressure on the outside equals the pressure on the inside. Could it be that the gas inside the Earth is at a lower temperature than the magma and there is a cooling effect during venting. Maybe volcanoes are pressure regulating valves and are meant to switch off. Why don't all planets in our own and other solar systems not have tectonic plates? These are rhetorical questions and in truth I am just guessing.

Plasma, I can't make my mind up on. Gut reaction says no but there again, maybe. First lets define what a plasma is and why it is different from an ion. A metal can loose a negative electron and become overall positively charged. This electron is taken up by a non metal species which then becomes overall negatively charged. The metal and the non metal are held in close proximity by electrostatic attraction. Each species is called an ion, a positive ion from the metal and a negative ion from the non metal. A plasma is an atom or group of atoms which have had all their electrons stripped from the nucleus usually by a strong magnetic cross field. This atomic nucleus is extremely reactive and will try to recover its lost electrons from any source it can. Because of their high reactivity, plasmas are very unstable. In the lab, nobody has yet managed to produce a plasma which has existed for anywhere approaching one second. In the video we saw air trapped in a water globule spinning along the axis of rotation. If the inside of the Earth consists of hot gasses spinning in a strong magnetic field maybe it is possible to form a plasma, maybe not or perhaps plasmas are continually being made and broken down. We have to ask what becomes of the electrons in such a situation. If such a plasma existed would it blow the earth's crust into space?

There seems to be a consensus that the great gouge on the surface of Mars was caused by a plasma discharge with another heavenly body which came too close at some time in the past. Did the plasma come from within Mars or the other heavenly body or both. Is the other body involved, what we now call the asteroids? So the plasma theory could be true.

Finally, although Donovan sang about anti gravity all those years ago, I have no idea what the term means. I think that in certain circumstances its effect can be so low as to be negligible but it is always there. Sure we know that astronauts don't get stuck to the surface of their capsule in the same way they get stuck to the surface of the Earth. Perhaps the inverse square of the distance has a greater effect than the product of the masses. Anti gravity is not the same thing as electrostatic repulsion.

Whilst speculation of the above kind sure won't put food on the table, mankind has always been an inquisitive animal. Suppose there a group of ten people living in a village and two men can hunt and provide all the meat required, another two can gather and provide all the growing food. Three women can cook and clean etc. because everyone knows that three women are equivalent to four men :) What of the three people left over? Well perhaps they can provide food for the human soul and this is regarded as a good trade off. A medicine man can double as a musician or a clothing maker or entertainers in general. Perhaps they can build structures to answer questions about the stars or make pots and utensils and then decorate them with pictures of animals or heavenly events they see. Just so long they don't invent a religion to control the other seven. So what use is art or finding answers to questions of the universe? Perhaps it was never intended to have a use but would life be as interesting without it?

If you can look . . . without the observer, a totally different action takes place
Posted:
Questioner: If we are all that background, the past, who is the observer who is looking at the past? How do we separate the past and the entity who says, 'I am looking at it'? Krishnamurti: Who is the entity, the observer that is looking at the past? Who is the entity, the thought, the being -whatever you call it- who says, 'I am looking at the unconscious'? There is a separation between the observer and the observed. Is that so? Is not the observer the observed? Therefore, there is no separation at all! Go slowly into this. If you could understand this one thing it would be the most extraordinary phenomenon that could take place. Do you understand the question? There is the unconscious as well as the conscious, and I say that I must know all about it; I must know the content and also the state of consciousness when there is no content, which is a step further, which we will go into if we have time. I am looking at it. I say, the observer says, that the unconscious is the past; the unconscious is the race into which I was born, the tradition -not only the tradition of society but of the family, the name, the residue of the whole Indian culture, the residue of all of humanity with all its problems, anxieties, guilt, and so on. I am all that, and that is the unconscious, which is the result of time, of many thousands of yesterdays, and there is the 'me' who is observing it. Now, who is the observer? Again, find out for yourself; discover who the observer is! Don't wait for me to tell you!

Why do we do all this:obey, follow, copy? Why? Because we are frightened inwardly to be uncertain. We want to be certain, we want to be certain financially, we want to be certain morally,we want to be approved, we want to be in a safe position, we want never to be confronted with trouble, pain, suffering, we want to be enclosed. So, fear, consciously or unconsciously, makes us obey the Master, the leader, the priest, the government. Fear also controls us from doing something which may be harmful to others, because we will be punished. So behind all these actions, greeds, pursuits, lurks this desire for certainty, this desire to be assured. So, without resolving fear, without being free from fear, merely to obey or to be obeyed has little significance; what has meaning is to understand this fear from day to day and how fear shows itself in different ways. It is only when there is freedom from fear that there is that inward quality of understanding, that aloneness in which there is no accumulation of knowledge or of experience, and it is that alone which gives extraordinary clarity in the pursuit of the real.

I guess it will not be long before we find out if Christine Lagaard's speech writers were pulling our collective legs or not so I decided to do some musings on numeroligy. This is a subject of which I have no deep knowledge so I am really musing from a position of ignorance. Apparently, what you have to do is take the numbers associated with some event, usually dates, and repeatedly keep adding the numbers together until you are left with a single number. Then you see if this number falls into the God camp or the Lucifer camp. We are led to believe that the Luciferian adherents engineer events so that the dates fall into their own camp. I have never understood why adding numbers together is so important, why not subtract them or divide them or if we want to keep them more in tune with the laws of nature; take the log to the base e of the number and do something with that. But no, adding numbers together is what we have to do. So when we have done this adding together exercise lets see what we are left with. We know from God's holy book that the number of the Devil is 6,6,6 which when added together makes 18 which reduces to 9. The Lucifer side is claiming all multiples of 3; 3,6 and 9. I have never understood why the God group never claimed number 3 because of the holy trinity but no matter. I have also heard the argument postulated that John of Revelations was refering to Calligula as the Beast since 6 is his number also. Putting that on one side and carrying on I have admitted to not being an expert on this and I have no idea who claims the number one (1). Luciferians have this thing about the inverted pentagon being significant in some of their ceramonies so they are claiming the number 5 also. They have also got the number 7 too as in the London 7/7 bombings and this latest dollar thing. So far they have all the odd numbers with the possible exception of 1 plus number 6. This leaves God with 2; 4 and 8 but number 2 cannot be derived from number 11 since the Luciferian's have this one sewn up as well, as in 9/11. Taking stock, the Luciferian's are claiming 6 ½ numbers with God defaulting to 2 ½ and the number 1 up for grabs. I guess there is nothing like putting the odds on your own side.

You need to read up a bit on the history of numerology if you want to understand why people put faith into it, wiki will give some clues why the elites use it.

Point being the elites have used it throughout history, and use it to this day, all the secret societies they grow up in use it, most religions use it e.g. it's found in the Bible as you've noted.

Weather it's bunkum or not is irrelevant, the elites make their own reality anyway, asigning numbers to their plans makes numerology a reality, not because the numbers help their plan, but because they use it in their plans.

That's my take anyway, I wouldn't waste my time analysing numbers tho, or putting faith into any particular date someone else says is relevant based on their personal musings of numerology.

murph said...

LOL Now we are on the subject of numerology.

We need to keep in mind that numbers are an abstraction and a human invention that enabled humans to quantify and identify what we perceive as reality. Unless we want to assert that early humans that invented counting (numbers) had some kind of mystical or metaphysical connection, numerology has no hidden agenda worth noting, that is, numerology has no connection to mystical forecasting of future events. It reminds me of the 17th and 18th century "science" of Phrenology.

On the other side of that coin. If we assert that everything in our reality is interconnected in some way, then maybe there is a predictive element to numbers along with other symbols. Just how much complete knowledge is necessary to make that reliable with no exceptions or outliers. I suspect it would be near infinity.

murph said...

This is also not including groups of humans that have no numbers and only talk about one or many.

Well that was a bit of topical light relief. Thanks Gd, read the article. People with no concept of numbers huh, how do they ever follow a recipe, they must need their bumps feeling :) Mind you the topical relief might not be so light come Sunday evening but that is another thing.

I hauled some money off the bank today, not a huge fortune, it was a bit that has just been sitting there doing nothing and I have been meaning to do it for ages. The fact I hadn't was just pure laziness. I know it is not a good plan just to have it sitting there and the health of the dollar was my spur into action. I thought if there is a possibility it will happen and they do it and I have just left it sitting there I will only hate myself. So I had my own personal run on the bank without anyone else knowing. Maybe that is one good thing to come out of numerology.

Bad anology Murph, if the elites or those in power, lets say Nazis in 1940's Poland, believed in Phrenology, and said everyone with a bump in a certain place on their head was marked for termination, we'd all be feeling for that bump; not because Phrenology has any merit, but because it would have real world repercussions.

Personally I agree Numerology is bunkum, but I disagree there are no real world examples of it's use in connection with real world repercussions, because we know they use it, did you miss the Legard speach rp linked? Or do you just think the elites are messing with us?

I don't think you can nut it off by saying numbers are an abstraction or invention either. Numbers are a language, used to describe/understand the world around us, it doesn't matter what language we use to describe such things, such things still remain, another language would describe the same thing, the same connections, it'd just need a maths-to-whatever language translator.

Did man invent numbers or just discover them and describe in his own language?

Nature by Numbers

It doesn't matter if it's bunkum to us, it matters to researchers that the elites believe this shit, here's some real world examples of their beliefs in the real world...

Personally I can't be arsed researching it further, life is just too short, that is not to say there is no merit in such research. I wouldn't be laughing at people who chose to either, unless they started to believe in numerology, it's a shame you can't see the difference. Gd.

".. the unconscious is the past; the unconscious is the race into which I was born, the tradition -not only the tradition of society but of the family, the name, the residue of the whole Indian culture, the residue of all of humanity with all its problems, anxieties, guilt, and so on.

i pretty much agree. its not mutually exclusive to one culture or another and pretty much describes the GAP - the universe of the unresolved. not that the gap is mutually exclusive to the unconscious for that matter but then, most of what's conscious is a re-enactment of what's being held in the unconscious.

couple questions... if i were conscious in the present that has now become the past, why did it go unconscious?

how does one "resolve" their fear?

an observation... certainty is highly overrated...

on numbers... from one pov, the whole universe and its creatures spin on numbers. we can know its not linear and at the same time, know that it is. and anything linear, by definition, can be identified by a progression. we paint by numbers which goes back to light interacting. music is based on numbers. or maybe its the other way round eh? which comes back to the ole chicken n egg question. which, btw, has been resolved ya know. in a very simple cartoon. a chicken (clearly a rooster) and an egg, (clearly a hen) are laying up in bed. the egg, while smoking a cig, has a huge smile and look of sassifaction and gratification on her face. the rooster, portraying a look of frustration on his face, exclaims.... well now, i guess that settles THAT question!! ...p

GD,

You said; "I wouldn't be laughing at people who chose to either, unless they started to believe in numerology, it's a shame you can't see the difference. Gd.".

I don't think I insinuated anything about laughing at a particular belief system.

What I am expressing cynically is the idea that numbers predict the future.

Yes, numbers are a language, I have an old degree in mathematics. However, as a language, it is not all inclusive. Every language has its limitations and advantages. It appears to me that all languages were developed to communicate a description of some slice of what we call reality. Numbers/mathematics is an abstraction that is heavily used for this descriptive process (quantification) of what we experience. At this time, I see no relationship between this description of reality and any predictive abilities.

An example applicable today is the use of statistics, a system of numbers used to show something about relationships. Its weak point is its complete inability to show causation. Because of this weak point, using statistics to support public policy results in much harm and very little good.

I agree that groups of people may subscribe to a particular numerical system that empirically, on the surface, appears to have predictive qualities, but never advertise where it breaks down in predictions.

I agree with you, putting a lot of energy into pursuing research into this area holds little promise of personal benefits.

On numbers being creations of people, Marco makes a pretty good case for numbers being real entities people discover and don't just make up.

As far as the number 9 being of Satan, or Evil, Marco Rodin, a practicing Baha'i, would disagree, as the 9 occupies a special position on his "clock face"

This is the guy who came up with the Rodin coil many of you have probably heard of. This is a long video lecture, but you should watch the first part, just to see how the numerology and symmetry work.

Hi Rp, Same here as fa. In my case I decided to get a few jobs off the list before TSHTF. Recently I have made four Ikea units one of which was not used for the purpose Ikea intended and needed major modification, routing great chunks out etc. If you saw the size of our place you would wonder where four Ikea units could go. Also got a second one of those plastic storage units to stand outside the house. We have the space under the stairs from the flat above us, It is only a small space but what a godsend it is. Long ago I shelved it out. I try to keep it reasonably tidy but it tends to be a dumping ground for anything out of the lady wife's hands that she doesn't know what to do with. A lot of stuff now went outside, a ladder, fold up chairs we got when we had extra guests at Christmas, trestles etc. Now we can actually get into the place. I still have to tidy the tools I have been using recently but I did manage to find a space for another two months worth of tinned food. We too have been having a heat wave and without air-co, the aquarium has overheated by about 7°F. That's not a whole lot for us but it is a lot for the fish. I have been freezing plastic containers of water and floating them in the tank, it is the only thing I can think of. Still have to get rid of the cooker and install a gas hob and then replace the perished internet cable outside the house. Also I have to convert a RH unit I made to a LH one when I moved it to the other side of the room.

Saw that video you put up, nice to see the press are not laying down and being rolled over like they usually are. Good they are fighting back and ruffling a few feathers. Nothing like murdering innocents and blaming it on the other side to get sympathy for yourself but when they are approaching the coup de gras they have cried “Wolf” once too often and no one is listening any more. Thanks for the sympathy for our next door neighbours freeacre, the royal family were out to meet the coffins coming home. They were inscrutable, no finger pointing at Russia, although that was hardly the occasion. Secretly, they know what is going on.

The big surprising news so far as I was concerned was that when the US Ship of state hits the rocks, then Germany may side with Russia and join the BRICS. That is the ice that is keeping southern Europe afloat but if the ice melts away...

We want to run away from our loneliness, with its panicky fears, so we depend on another, we enrich ourselves with companionship, and so on. We are the prime movers, and other become pawns in our game; and when the pawn turns and demands something in return, we are shocked and grieved. If our own fortress is strong, without a weak spot in it, this battering from the outside is of little consequence to us. The peculiar tendencies that arise with advancing age must be understood and corrected while we are still capable of detached and tolerant self-observation and study; our fears must be observed and understood now. Our energies must be directed, not merely to the understanding of the outward pressures and demands for which we are responsible, but to the comprehension of ourselves, of our loneliness, our fears, demands, and frailties. There is no such thing as living alone, for all living is relationship; but to live without direct relationship demands high intelligence, a swifter and greater awareness for self-discovery. A "lone" existence, without this keen and flowing awareness, strengthens the already dominant tendencies, thus causing unbalance, distortion. It is now that one has to become aware of the set and peculiar habits of thought-feeling which come with age, and by understanding them make away with them. Inward riches alone bring peace and joy.0

Rp, Plasma has been described as the fourth state of matter but because it only occurs under extreme conditions, it does not normally enter our daily lives. It is therefore normal that most people don't know much about it. It is essentially the nucleus of an atom with the electrons stripped off. The different ways it is made amount to design features of the apparatus rather than something different in essence. The way I described it in an earlier comment, is the way that CERN do it. They get a heavy element in a gaseous state and introduce it into a torus (A fancy word for a doughnut shape). The torus is surrounded on every side by powerful electro magnets and initially the metal under consideration is subject to an extremely strong magnetic force acting at right angles to the direction of the torus which takes the electrons out leaving only the nucleus. The positive nucleus of the heavy metal gas is prevented from arcing against the inner surface of the torus by positively charging the electromagnets. Since opposites repel each other, the gas will move forward down the tube. By continually keeping the magnetic field just behind and alongside the gas it can be accelerated to high speeds approaching the speed of light. It will also become heavier as well as predicted by the relativity theory. At a certain point it will be allowed to leave the torus down a branch tube and be smashed into some other material under consideration. The modern word for this type of apparatus is a particle accelerator. It used to be known as an atom smasher but it is the same thing.

Here is an article describing how it is done in a metal cutting device. This is a better description than I could give.

SATS, If the sun is a giant thermonuclear chain reaction going off continuously, shouldn't its heat dissipate in accordance to what we understand on earth as the inverse square law? Temperature at the surface highest, cooling as one moves away? But that's not what we observe. Sun's surface temp is said to be in the 6,000 K range, while coronal temps are said to be 10 million degrees or so. How is this explained?

By the way, the EU (electric universe,) proponents argue the sun is a capacitor, receiving energy from space in the form of electromagnetics. They completely reject the big bang theory, dark matter and dark energy.

Don't know Rp, I am approaching my knowledge limit on this but let me put down a few observations. Not all heating sources are the same. Does heat from an object fall off inversely with the square of its distance from that object? Gravity does but not sure about heat and light doesn't appear to, no pun intended. Also, here is an experiment you can try at home. Put a thermocouple in the flame of your gas cooker and measure the temperature at the point of the blue cone. Then measure it again at half the height of the flame again (1,5 the distance of the blue cone). You will find it suddenly jumps up. Not by a factor of 10m / 6000 but you take the point there is some sort of analogy. Maybe magnetism plays a part in a way I don't understand.

I did say dark matter was a theory to be proved or disproved. In the 50's and 60's the controversy was over big bang vs continuous creation. Continuous creation always held more appeal to me. I remember people like Hawkins et al calculating what the universe looked like in this or that trillionth of a second after the big bang. It always seemed to me, they were using the theory to work out their results which is completely the wrong way round. Yes I do know no one was there at the time to take measurements. Then the theory was changed so that there was no explosion from a single point , moreover it was like a currant cake that was rising in the oven. Now the electric universe explains more observations. If the sun is a giant capacitor, where do the proponents say the charging energy is coming from? They cannot just say the universe and leave it at that because then they are using the universe to define the universe and you get a circular argument.

How does the electric universe explain a rocky Earth with an ice filled core?

I will look into thunderbolts tomorrow, it is a bit late here now. Also Eric Dollard is new to me I will look him up and let you know.

March 20th - Obama announces more unilateral sanctions on Russia.
March 24th - Leaked tape where former prime minister of Ukraine and darling of the West, Yulia Tymoshenko, calls for wiping out all Russians with nuclear weapons.
April 29th - Obama unilaterally expands sanctions on Russia.
April 30th - Newly installed regime in Kiev receives $17 billion from the IMF for "economic reforms". (December deal from Russia with better terms for Ukrainian people discarded.)
May 3rd - Obama calls Kiev's coup government "duly elected".
May 11th - Eastern Ukraine votes for independence from Kiev and for self-rule. Kiev mobilizes military to punish citizens for disloyalty.
May 15th - US Vice President's son Hunter Biden named to the board of Ukraine gas company.

July 15th - BRICS nations fund international development bank to compete with the IMF, World Bank, and the dollar itself.
July 17th - Commercial airliner MH17 shot out of the sky over eastern Ukraine. Appears to be classic false flag event after the West immediately blamed Russia citing sketchy YouTube videos.
July 2014 - US announces yet more sanctions on Russia. EU and Canada both join in calls for more sanctions for Russia.
July 2014 - Joe Biden's son's company prepares to drill shale gas in east Ukraine.
July 2014 - Pentagon creates military plan to clear path for gas drilling in rebel-held areas of Ukraine.

Sorry to have been absent. We've been knocking ourselves out getting ready for the chicken coop and garden tour tomorrow. Making kale chips and rhubarb cooler drinks for the guests. Expecting over a hundred folks. Wrote a short new post, but our camera is screwing up, so I can't post until I can get the stupid camera to work. Gaaah!
More after the tour. Jeez.

I've got a friend who says "it's all about the money," referring to "doomer" sites on the net. Well, it looks like his adage is "dead" on as it applies to Big Pharma.

I happen to agree but take it a bit further, "every thing's a business model." Got that from George Ure. It's a bit cynical but appears to be so for the most part.

The concept of "it's all about the money" and "follow the money" I first came across from Mike Ruppert.

Western culture is in the process of finishing up monetizing everything. Getting out from underneath that is very difficult. I admire those that have done so for the most part.

You and I realize that we are conditioned. If you say, as some people do, that conditioning is inevitable, then there is no problem; you are a slave, and that is the end of it. But if you begin to ask yourself whether it is at all possible to break down this limitation, this conditioning, then there is a problem; so you will have to inquire into the whole process of thinking, will you not? If you merely say, "I must be aware of my conditioning, I must think about it, analyze it in order to understand and destroy it," then you are exercising force. Your thinking, your analyzing is still the result of your background, so through your thought you obviously cannot break down the conditioning of which it is a part.Just see the problem first, don't ask what is the answer, the solution. The fact is that we are conditioned, and that all thought to understand this conditioning will always be partial; therefore there is never a total comprehension, and only in total comprehension of the whole process of thinking is there freedom. The difficulty is that we are always functioning within the field of the mind, which is the instrument of thought, reasonable or unreasonable; and as we have seen, thought is always partial.
